The Educational Value Of Christian Doctrine, M. Scholastica Walters
The Educational Value Of Christian Doctrine, M. Scholastica Walters
Bachelors’ Theses
This short thesis is offered with the hope of strengthening the belief that there can be no true education without moral training, and that the moral training without the religious is incomplete, and at times even proves baneful. It is incomplete in as much as vices lead to undermine the physical constitution and to blind the intellect, weaken the faculties and harden the heart; baneful, for intellectual development, without morality, may become a snare and a temptation to virtue.

The Teleological Argument For The Existence Of God, Louis A. Wilson
The Teleological Argument For The Existence Of God, Louis A. Wilson
Bachelors’ Theses
After all, the mystic's position is not wholly unintelligible. For while his imagination serves him as an immediate perceptive faculty with which he sees God in his every glance at the universe, his view is not without a philosophical basis. It is from the data furnished us by the universe of our experience that Natural Theology is able to arrive at the knowledge of the existence of God. In doing so it may employ either of three ·types of arguments. If it begins with a consideration of the primary attributes proper to all finite beings as such, it is metaphysical; …
Character Building Through Literature, Mary Ignatia Wiesner
Character Building Through Literature, Mary Ignatia Wiesner
Bachelors’ Theses
To make straight the paths for the poets, and the critics, the terms literature and character shall be defined, the extent, as well as the limitation, of the influence of literature on character outlined, and a method of approach to the study of literature discussed. First, then, there will be a discussion of terms, then the opinions of writers on the moral values of literature, and finally, in the light of this discussion, this paper will attempt to show whether these writers claim more for literature than it actually can and does accomplish, and just how literature can be made …
Religious Experience In The Light Of Current Psychology., Elwyn Judson Trueblood 1896-1963
Religious Experience In The Light Of Current Psychology., Elwyn Judson Trueblood 1896-1963
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Psychology is receiving a new emphasis in the modern age. The subject of human consciousness, always fascinating, is now claiming our attention as never before. When we endeavor to link psychology with religion, the charm is greatly increased; for then we are dealing with two themes, rather than one, in which mankind has an abiding interest -- the human consciousness and the human soul. Thus, the psychology of religion has grown to be one of the most popular studies of our generation. Indeed, an eminent authority in this field ventures the opinion that the theoretical as well as the practical …
