Jack Kleinsinger presents Highlights in Jazz. The concert was held at The Tribeca Performing Arts Center, Thursday, February 8th, 2007 at 8:00 pm. Jack served as producer and master of ceremonies for the series of concerts. Artists for the concert include Lew Soloff, Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, Sol Yaged, Trio Da Paz, Jon-Erik Kellso, Dan Levinson, Bob Garcia, Dan Block, Dave Brown, and surprise guests Marian Cowings and Alexander Cowings.

"Ain't I a Woman honors four African-American women of remarkable achievement and invincible character. The text draws attention to specific choices and decisions in their lives demonstrating how each overcame personal or political challenges and was able to achieve astonishing goals living in an American society often unfriendly to social tolerance and acceptance. The musical score that unifies the pieces is drawn from the heartfelt spirituals and blues of the Deep South, the urban vitality of the Jazz Age, as well as contemporary concert …

A Study Of Charles-Auguste De Beriot And His Contributions To The Violin, Leigh P. Mackintosh

Undergraduate Theses and Capstone Projects

The purpose of this research was to gain information about Charles-Auguste de Beriot (1802-1870) and his contributions to the violin. The specific problems of the study were as follows: 1.) to identify what influenced the compositions of Charles-Auguste de Beriot; 2.) to outline important developments in his writing that contributed to violin technique and Romanticism; and 3.) to analyze Concerto IX in A minor for Violin, Op. 104 in terms of melody, harmony, tonality, texture, and form. The intention of this research is to investigate Beriot’s compositions for violin and examines the Romantic aspects that appear in his Concerto IX. …
