Esta investigacion analiza la experiencia de la mujer espanola durante la epoca de la postguerra y como se relaciona con el renacimiento de la imagen de la reina Isabel I (1451-1504) como un ejemplar de la feminidad. La revitalizacion de la Reina Catolica sirvio como propaganda politica falangista con el fin de inspirar la subyugacion, devocion abnegada y conformidad de la mujer espanola de aquel entonces. This study explores the shared challenges during the acculturation process of graduate student immigrants pursuing higher education in the United States. 13 graduate student immigrants at the University of San Francisco discuss their experiences of cultural adjustment into U.S. culture. Through qualitative interviews and thematic analysis, this study seeks to understand the acculturation experiences of graduate student immigrants in the San Francisco Bay Area of the United States. This analysis is based on the individual-level experience examining attitudes and acculturation strategies in the dominant society. In the field of migration studies, research on transnationalism has been well
established. Applying an intersectional framework of post-colonial narrative and
linguistic anthropology to transnational migration, this research allows us to better
understand how the transnational immigrant deploys language. Through a nostalgia
studies approach, this study is able to analyze how transnational immigrants place value
on their heritage and second languages, and reflexively deploy their language sets to

For over a century, the development of English, especially its two waves of foreign influence during the period between late OE to ME, has been a controversial area. This paper attempts to examine the two instances of foreign influence exerted upon English using several important notions taken from pidgin-creole and bilingual theories to provide more realistic pictures of the two language contact situations. The paper does not provide a clear-cut conclusion, but rather it undoes age-old binary models, e.g., pro-Germanic vs. pro-Romance, introduces new insights, and raises questions regarding sociolinguistic aspects of language contact and the transformation of English during …

Le but de cet essai est de retrouver l'origine de ces deux différentes conceptions d'Oreste dans la littérature antique, puis de montrer comment chaque Oreste exprime les croyances et les idées de son propre créateur: Racine, chez qui la fatalité de la tragédie, le prédéterminisme du Jansénisme et peut-être le pessimisme naturel se mêlent pour accabler l'individu; Sartre , chez qui, Dieu étant mort, l'homme est "condamné a être libre" et pour qui la tragédie de 11 existence n'est que le point de départ pour l'individu forcé de créer sa propre destinée.

Tyrants speak with many voices, bold many poses, and cast many shadows, but inevitably all wear the same face--the tragic face of tyranny itself. Many artists have painted the portrait; few have captured the essence of its tragedy. Valle Inclan and Asturias, each in his own way, depict the world of tyranny as grotesque and absurd in order to show the tragic condition of man.
