A translator must consider multiple cultural contexts when translating a work of electronic literature; no longer concerned only with the text, they might need to examine images, platform, interactivity, and the code itself. As identified by Przbyszewska, translating works of e-lit can require attention to the code and platform of a work, with the extent dictated by “the interaction inherent in the semantics of the text” (28). Meanwhile, Marecki and Montfort differentiate e-lit translation from its traditional literary counterpart because the translator is no longer “invisible” where e-lit is involved (90). This paper explores various definitions of social revolutions to create one cohesive and operationalized definition that measures success through a numerical rating scale. Once establishing what revolutions were successful or fall into different typological sortings, this research employs qualitative content analysis as well as quantitative methods still being refined, in order to investigate the potential drivers of social revolutionary success in Latin America throughout the 20th century. To synthesize the benefits of "music & movement" education in a specific Latine-American context, I investigate three ways in which Orff-Schulwerk pedagogy, if implemented in the classroom, would benefit Latine children in San Francisco. This paper analyzes food as a memory device in the novel Doña Flor y sus dos maridos by the Brazilian author Jorge Amado. Set in San Salvador du Bahía in northern Brazil, the novel follows Doña Flor after her husband Vadinho dies. This study focuses on the uniquely-gendered experiences of enslaved women in the Caribbean in the 18^th century. First, I examine the racialized views of femininity and how enslaved women were denied the privileges of white femininity and forced to do the same work as men, yet were still valued less than their male counterparts because of their gender. The study goes on to highlight the sexual oppression enslaved women experienced, and its adverse effects on their health.
