Despite the linguistic policies that have attempted to displace Quechua with Spanish and western culture, the use of Quechua in Ecuador has not been extinguished –especially among indigenous communities. Moreover, Quechua today is recognized as one of the languages of a multicultural society and the Spanish that is spoken in this country contains substrates that attest the deep-seatedness of Quechua. This paper consequently explores the presence of Quechua words in phraseological units in Ecuadorean Spanish as evidence of the indigenous substrate. "At colleges and universities in the United States, the liberal arts are seen as a worthy complement to focused learning in a discipline. A discipline is expected to offer specialization in preparation for further study, for careers and for professions. The liberal arts are charged with providing a broad intellectual background. The liberal arts can also serve as an entry point, a first exposure, to the range of disciplines. This is a special relationship promising balance between depth and breadth. "Rodolfo Walsh escribió sus dos únicas obras de teatro, La granada y La batalla, en 1965, cuando ya se reconocía como un intelectual de izquierda, bajo la influencia de su experiencia cubana, pero aún reticente a creer que para los países latinoamericanos era posible dar comienzo a un proyecto evolucionario liderado por grupos armados. En la tematización de las Fuerzas Armadas, Walsh llama la atención sobre el militarismo de los países latinoamericanos y usa la sátira para agudizar su crítica a tal fenómeno.
