Memory Bread, constituting a daily performance ritual and the post-action objects, seeks to address the generational decline of mother language use in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a post-colonized province of China. I chose to eat sliced white bread in the performance and later casted concrete sculptures as the extension of the action for both substances’ capitalistic nature. Being an invasive material that took over the traditional architectural lifestyle, the use of concrete mirrors the pervasive cultural and ethnic assimilation in China. This paper aims at analysing various passages from some of the most famous comedies by Lebanese playwright Ziad Rahbani, characterized by the use of different languages, language varieties and Modern Standard Arabic mixed with Lebanese Arabic. All of these extracts have been transcribed and translated into Italian, so that a linguistic analysis and review about peculiar leitmotivs of Ziad's comedies can be outlined. While participation has been linked to achievement in the classroom, various external factors can change students’ willingness to participate. In this study the researcher sought to discover what participation looks like in regards to one of these factors, language. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether assisted repeated reading is an effective way for adult second language (L2) learners of English to develop oral and silent reading fluency rates. Reading fluency is an underdeveloped construct in second language studies, both in research and practice.
