สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ศึกษาข้อบกพร่องที่พบในการแปลป้ายข้อมูลของพิพิธภัณฑ์และวิธีการแก้ไข โดยคัดสรรบทแปลจากป้ายข้อมูลนิทรรศการของศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์เพื่อการศึกษา (ท้องฟ้าจำลองกรุงเทพ) เพื่อให้ได้บทแปลที่สามารถใช้งานได้ตามวัตถุประสงค์ มีอรรถสาระและเนื้อหาเหมาะสมกับผู้รับสารปลายทาง ผู้ศึกษาได้ดำเนินการวิจัยโดยค้นคว้าแนวคิดเกี่ยวกับการแปลตัวบทพิพิธภัณฑ์ (Guillot, 2014; Neather, 2005; Sturge, 2007) แนวทางการวิเคราะห์ตัวบทประเภทสารคดีของคริสติอาเน นอร์ด (2005) แนวคิดการจำแนกหมวดหมู่ของข้อบกพร่องในการแปลโดยคริสติอาเน นอร์ด (1997) กลวิธีการแก้ไขงานแปลที่เกี่ยวข้อง (วัลยา วิวัฒน์ศร, 2547; มกุฏ อรฤดี, 2560; Mossop, 2007) ทฤษฎีสโคพอส (Skopostheorie) นำเสนอโดยฮันส์ แฟร์เมียร์ (1996) แนวคิดเรื่อง Scene-and-Frames Semantics นำเสนอโดยชาร์ลส ฟิลล์มอร์ (1977) แนวทางการแปลแบบตีความและยึดความหมาย (Interpretive Approach) นำเสนอโดยฌอง เดอลิลส์ (1988) และความรู้ว่าด้วยไวยากรณ์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับข้อบกพร่องในการแปลที่พบ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าการนำทฤษฎีและแนวคิดต่างๆ ข้างต้นมาประยุกต์ใช้ร่วมกัน สามารถระบุข้อบกพร่องในบทแปลและแก้ไขข้อบกพร่องได้

Kafkaesque, Orwellian, eerie, surreal, bizarre, grotesque, alien, wacky, fascinating, dystopian, illusive, theatrical, antic, haunting, apocalyptic: these are just a few of the vaguely science-fictional adjectives that are now associated with North Korea. At the same time, North Korea has become an oddly convenient trope for a certain aesthetic – an uncanny opacity; an ominous mystique – that many writers and artists have exploited to generate striking science-fictional effects in texts with little or no connection to North Korean reality. Coptic SCRIPTORIUM is a platform for interdisciplinary and computational research in texts in the Coptic language, particularly the Sahidic dialect. As an open-source, open-access initiative, our technologies and corpus facilitate a collaborative environment for digital research for all scholars working in Coptic. We provide:

• tools to process Coptic texts
• a searchable, richly-annotated corpus of texts using the ANNIS search and visualization architecture
• visualizations of Coptic texts
• a collaborative platform for scholars to use and contribute to the project research results generated from the tools and corpus

This essay addresses the cultural and political agendas that influence the selection of Latin American novels to be translated by U.S. publishers and the reception of these novels by U.S. readers. Focusing on two Latin American writers who have had enormous success in the U.S., the author traces the shift from the magical realism of Gabriel García Márquez in the 1970s, 80s and 90s, to the gritty realism of Roberto Bolaño, and asks what these different paradigms can tell us about stereotypical U.S. notions of Latin American cultural and political realities. This research focuses on the approaches and strategies to be taken by any translator in the search for the closest natural equivalence for any given noun. However the approaches and strategies are only a suggestion based on the writer's extracted samplings from the two Japanese novels, namely Hatsukoi by Tatsuya Yoshimura and Hyaku lkkai Me no Puropousu by Shinji Yojima.
