The question of whether the United States should adopt the metric system involves a complex evaluation of economic benefits, industrial resistance, and global compatibility. In the early 1960s, legislative efforts in Congress focused on initiating a formal study to determine the feasibility of such a transition. Proponents of the metric system, particularly in the aerospace and pharmaceutical industries, argue that the current dual system of measurement leads to significant inefficiencies. Research indicates that 94 percent of technical personnel in the aerospace field favor the change to eliminate time-consuming conversions and reduce the risk of calculation errors. The NEA operates through a structured approach led by an active minority that coordinates research and federal relations divisions to shape policy and disseminate propaganda. Its primary lobbying methods include providing expert testimony, conducting research for congressional hearings, and mobilizing a grass roots network of state and local chapters to pressure legislators. The Octofoil is the offical publication of the Ninth Infantry Division Association, Inc., an organization formed by the officers and men of the 9th Infantry Division in order to perpetuate the memory of fallen comrades, preserve the esprit de corps of the Division, promote peace and serve as an information bureau about the 9th Infantry Division. The Association is made up of 9th Infantry veterans from WWII and Vietnam, spouses, widows and lineal descendants.

The Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions (BCIM) was created in 1874 as the Office of the Commissioner for Catholic Indian Missions to protect, promote, and administer the Native American mission interests of the Catholic Church in the United States. Records in this group are organized by record group and then state or territory and year. Collection organization varies very little throughout the collection, however, prior to 1921, general correspondence was organized by location. By March of 1658 tho grand jury system in Virginia was found to be sadly lacking. It had scarcely lasted ten years. Probably the reason for this failure was that the county justices failed to carry out the details of establishing grand juries. Because or Virginia's rural setting, this system would surely have been a worthwhile one. It seems to be quite evident that here we had a powerful instrument for aiding in criminal detection, and at the same time an instrument for protecting the innocent. Published as a series sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution Bureau of American Ethnology, the “River Basin Surveys Papers” are a collection of archeological investigations focused on areas now flooded by the completion of various dam projects in the United States. The River Basin Surveys Papers (numbered 1-39) were mostly published in bundles, with 5-6 papers in each bundle. In collaboration with the United States (US) National Park Service and the US Bureau of Reclamation, the US Department of the Interior, and the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Smithsonian Institution pulled archeological and paleontological remains from several sites prior to …
