The purpose of this study is to analyze the arguments used by Richard Nixon relative to the key issues in the 1968 presidential campaign. The objective is to record and illustrate the persuasive appeals employed. This analysis makes an attempt to reveal what of substance was said by Mr. Nixon.

Finally in the 1880’s there emerged a reformist group which was ultimately to be the model of the viability, adaptability, effectiveness, and success of evolutionary socialism. The group called itself the Fabian Society and in the beginning it seemed to be not unlike other protest or reformist groups which were springing up all over England at the time. The difference was that this group, though always small in numbers, was to have a tremendous impact throughout England and the rest of the democratic world. If a man could somehow snap a picture of the world today, a viewer one hundred years hence would certainly notice its many revolutionary characteristics. Perhaps the most important of these relates to the growth of non-Western nationalism and modernization, the "revolution of rising expectations," which has resulted in the formation of many new nations within the last twenty years, led by Western-trained intellectuals in many cases. These new leaders have been faced with the problem that their fellow countrymen do not necessarily share their beliefs in or understanding of nationalism.

What is the Nebraska "Unicameral" experience in handling problems relating to organization, procedure, leadership, and lobbying? Has the Nebraska system attracted different kinds of people to legislative service? This study was undertaken for the purpose of determining, on the basis of an investigation of the only one-house state legislative system in the nation, how Nebraska unicameralism functions in present-day circumstances and if the Nebraska experience has produced evidence of alternative ways of dealing with contemporary legislative problems which would tend to bear out the expectations of the supporters of the single-house legislature.
