Her sister lived in St. James and she joined her sister there after briefly returning to Guatemala. She’s happy that she can send money to support her family members in Guatemala and works hard to provide for her transnational family.

He planned on only staying for 6 months and he’s now lived in St. James for 29 years.

Work in clothing design and printing in California and bought a house. Pushed by economic precarity around 2008 to move to St. James where he already had family members and a real estate investment. One of his children was in college in Mankato at the time of the interview.
