Cette école était destinée à apprendre aux femmes à prendre la parole en public en défendant leurs idées. On ne sait si cette école perdura. L’idée en fut reprise en 1932 par l’Union française pour le suffrage des femmes et l’avocate féministe Marcelle Kraemer-Bach fonda une école d’oratrices au sein du Musée social.

Texte consacré à la dernière impératrice des Français et à la dernière impératrice des Allemands, épouse de Guillaume II, mortes toutes deux en 1921. Marguerite Durand y réfute les « légendes » qui ont donné d’elles une fausse image. La journaliste était très attachée à la figure de l’impératrice Eugénie, qu’elle considérait comme l’une des premières féministes et pour laquelle elle lança l’initiative d’un musée à Pierrefonds.

In this letter, dated to approximately 1916, Abbie writes to Mrs. Tibbets about several topics, including her teaching job, attending an exhibition, seeing the Emperor pass on the street, tea services, and describes in detail her accommodations. She says that she is very happy in Japan now that she is more used to the climate.

Il existe deux versions de ce texte dans le manuscrit original. Seule la première a été reprise pour la transcription. Marguerite Durand y fait une analyse détaillée et commentée de cette pièce féministe dont les personnages -avocate, écrivaine, femme médecin, journaliste – représentent les différentes figures de l’émancipation féminine. La pièce obtint un grand succès en 1913.

Cora writes to Mrs. Tibbets about her vacation trip from where she was staying in Tokyo to several different places around Japan. She writes of her stay in a Japanese style hotel. She also writes about the scenery around her, and about how long it takes her by rail to get to her travel destinations. She also writes of a traveling companion named George, and how she has invited Abbie to come and visit her and meet George.

In this letter, Cora writes to Mrs. Tibbets about life in Japan. She writes about the climate, and how she finds she cannot do as much due to the "enervating" nature of the climate there. She describes a "sword walking" ceremony, in which one climbs a ladder made of swords. She then writes of the beginnings of spring in Japan and how there is a fair coming to Japan, "the largest ever held in Japan."

In this letter, Cora writes to Mrs. Tibbets to thank her for the Christmas gifts. She describes the table that they set for a traditional western-style Christmas. They invited a Japanese couple, who were described by Cora to be very fascinated with the Christmas decor. She also tells Mrs. Tibetts about her coming vacation with George to Oshima, as there is a volcano there that they are intending to climb.

This item is a list of over 80 enslaved people of African descent at Spring Garden, a plantation in present-day DeLeon Springs State Park, Florida. The list notes the first names of enslave persons and their ages. Annotations indicate occupations and work assignments, family units, and if individuals were sent to Charleston or sold locally. The meaning of some annotations are unclear or at least not explicit, such as small circles next to females' names. Annotations indicate this list was used as reference more than once.
