A recipe for cough syrup, labeled as "Miss Mannings Cough Mixture, Atlanta, 1895" on the backside of the paper, which reads: "A a simple but efficient cough mixture - Nicholeou's or Hoff's Malt Extract, one pint; whiskey (best), six oz; Glycerine (chemically [?]), 6 oz; juice of six lemons; crushed sugar, 2 oz. Mix and Boil ten minutes. Dose, from 1 to 2 teaspoon [?] to 1 to 2 tablespoon [?], according to the age, every one, two or three hours as may be indicated."
