In 1991, an excavation was conducted at the eastern margins of Tel Zavat, under the direction of S. Yankelevich. Five stratigraphic phases were identified, dated to the Middle Bronze Age IIb, Late Bronze Age II, and the Hellenistic period. The excavation revealed tombs with accompanying grave goods, as well as the remains of structures and walls, a pit, ovens, and fragments of bricks and pottery.

As part of a survey and excavation project conducted on behalf of the Archaeological Survey Association of Israel and the Department of Antiquities and Museums between 1980 and 1988, a trial excavation was carried out on the southern slopes of Giv’at Masu’a (Nahal Rephaim) in May 1982. The excavation was directed by G. Edelstein, with assistance of T. Waks (photography), S. Gibson and Y. Fleitman (surveying).

In the winter of 1979–1980, an excavation was conducted on a slope descending toward the Yifʻat Stream, north of Kibbutz Sarid, under the direction of A. Raban. The excavation was prompted by the exposure of six tombs, as well as walls and floors of residential structures, uncovered by the rains.

In April–November 1976, an excavation was conducted at the Hapitu’ah quarry near Ein Hanatziv (map ref. unknown). The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by D. Davis. A shaft tomb (No. 61) was excavated, one of the tombs of an ancient cemetery that was previously excavated in 1953.

In 1972, an excavation was conducted in the ancient cemetery of Qanat al-Ja'ar (north of Ein Hanatziv; map ref. 247/709), under the direction of D. Bahat. In the excavation, and in those that preceded it, three types of tombs were exposed. The finds in the tombs included many pottery vessels, bronze vessels, glass vessels, weapons including a spear and a knife, cosmetics vessels, a mirror, a fibula pin, and jewellery.

In December 1956, an excavation was conducted near the northern gate of the Tirat Zvi group (map ref. 249875/703250), following the exposure of a burial cave during earth mining. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by N. Zori with the assistance of Y. Reifen of Tirat Zvi group (surveying). The cave was badly damaged during the mining and the excavators encountered difficulty revealing the finds in situ due to the rainy weather.

In August 1954, a salvage excavation was conducted at Kibbutz Ha-Ma‘apil (map ref. 1986/6983), following the construction of the Kibbutz dining room . The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by J. Ory. Four rectangular cist tombs were exposed, some of which were damaged by the construction work on the site. The tombs, which were oriented in a north–south direction, were built of soft limestone that was dressed on the inner side. In 1952, an excavation was conducted in Tiberias, west of the house of the Custodian of Absentee Property (map ref. unknown), following the discovery of tombs during repair work in the building. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by B. Ravni. The excavation was carried out in a pit (3.5 × 6.0 m, depth 1.1 m) opened by the Public Works Department. Six tombs or parts of tombs were found, of which only three were excavated thoroughly. Some of the tombs were hewn in the rock and some built.

In 1952, a trial excavation was conducted in Tiberias (map ref. 2500/7440), following the discovery of tombs during the digging a channel for pipelines by workers of Tiberias municipal water department (beginning in the middle of the Aliyah Street in the west). The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by B. Ravni. Eight tombs, of which four were fully examined, were exposed in the channel (0.5 × 107 m, max. depth 0.5 m).
