Studies in diet breadth modeling and patch choice have been and continue to be a hot topic of interest among practitioners of human behavioral ecology and the set of data available at Bridge River can certainly add to these debates and discussions that have been dominating anthropology in the past few decades. The faunal assemblage of Housepit 54’s 17 anthropogenic floors have provided researchers with a plethora of data that clearly indicates periods of resource depletion and partial to full site abandonment. In March 2022, a community excavation was conducted at Ḥorbat Neged (West), located north of the city of Sederot (Permit No. Z-23/2022; map.ref. 161721–916/605024–162). The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Sederot Economic Development Company, was directed by S. Tal, with the assistance of Y. Alamor (administration), H. Etel, Y. Cohen, M. Hazan Ozri and S. Shaked (field instruction), E. Aladjem (drone photography and surveying), R. Dagan, O. Rasiuk (consultation), A. Azoulay (plans), students from Sederot (Grades 3–12), and participants from the Sederot Agricultural School.

One of the most common inquiries received by Filson Historical Society librarians concerns the myth of Prince Madoc and the Welsh Indians. Of the myth’s many versions, the one most familiar to Ohio Valley History readers goes like this: Madoc, a Welsh prince escaping an internecine conflict over political rule at home, supposedly sailed to North America in the twelfth century. His force either landed at the Falls of the Ohio or made it there after landing further south and being driven north by hostile locals, possibly Cherokee people. The auction of the Royal Jewels from the Bourbon-Parma Family is considered iconic. It took place as an evening sale at the Mandarin Oriental in Geneva, on November 14, 2018 amid great interest from collectors and the media alike. It comprised a hundred lots from the collection of the Bourbon Parma Family, several of them with royal provenance. The most important pieces were ten objects that are believed to have belonged to Marie Antoinette’s personal jewelry collection.
