Today, almost 2700 years after the heroic deeds of this Hebrew warrior, we read of another tale of deliverance and heroism, that of the vocation, the battles, the triumphs and martyrdom of Joan of Arc, peasant girl of Domremy and deliverer of her beloved France. Bachelors’ Theses

But among those readers who, like her, are imbued with romantic ideals, who feel the urge for self-expression, who have a natural appreciation for genuine lyric poetry, who love indulgence in dreamy fancies, philosophical reflection and sudden, quick changes of mood - among these she has won a reputation which places her among the foremost Romanticists of the later school.

Bachelors’ Theses
When given this author as the topic of my thesis, I must confess I had never heard of him before. I was told that his novels would be found in the library in German, but that very little, if anything, about his life would be available. I can bear witness to the truth of this remark, for my visit to the library and my letters to prominent dealers in German and in German-American books brought meagre information.
