การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานดุริยางคศิลป์ ชุด สัตว์หิมพานต์ เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงสร้างสรรค์ผสมกับการใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพในดำเนินการวิจัย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาคติความเชื่อในเรื่องสัตว์หิมพานต์ นำไปสู่การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานดุริยางคศิลป์ และจัดแสดงผลงานต่อสาธารณชน เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้การสัมภาษณ์จากบุคคลข้อมูล 3 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านศิลปกรรมไทย ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านศาสนาปรัชญาและความเชื่อ และผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิทางดุริยางคศิลป์ไทย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า สัตว์หิมพานต์เกี่ยวข้องกับวัฒนธรรมไทยมายาวนาน แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ประเภท ได้แก่ สัตว์จตุบาท สัตว์ทวิบาทและมัจฉา ในสังคมไทยมีคติความเชื่อว่าสัตว์หิมพานต์เป็นสัตว์มงคล เป็นสัตว์วิเศษที่มีความสวยงาม มีคติเกี่ยวข้องกับศาสนาพุทธ และศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู ผลงานดุริยางคศิลป์ ชุด สัตว์หิมพานต์ ประกอบไปด้วย 10 บทเพลง ได้แก่เพลงพญาโคนิสภราช เพลงพญาพลาหก เพลงพญาฉัททันต์ เพลงพญาไกรสรสีหราช เพลงพญาหงส์ทอง เพลงพญากินนรแห่งสุวัณณนคร เพลงพญาครุฑ เพลงปลาอานนท์ เพลงพญานาคราช สุนันทนาคราชและปนันทนาคราช มีเพลงสำหรับเชื่อมต่อเพื่อความเป็นเอกภาพคือเพลงวิพิธหิมพานต์ บทเพลงทั้ง 10 เพลงประพันธ์ขึ้นใหม่ทั้งหมดโดยนำข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับสัตว์หิมพานต์มาวิเคราะห์ ตีความทางสัญวิทยาโดยนำเอาลักษณะของสัตว์ต่าง ๆ มาสื่อด้วยองค์ประกอบทางดุริยางคศิลป์ ผสานกับความคิดสร้างสรรค์ จินตนาการ และแรงบันดาลใจของผู้วิจัยในรูปแบบดนตรีพรรณนา มีการสร้างสรรค์รูปแบบการประสมวงดนตรี และรูปแบบจังหวะหน้าทับขึ้นใหม่เพื่อแสดงจินตภาพของสัตว์หิมพานต์แต่ละชนิด เพื่อเติมเต็มจินตภาพของสัตว์หิมพานต์ให้สมบูรณ์

ปัจจุบันประเทศไทยกำลังก้าวเข้าสู่สังคมผู้สูงอายุ ซึ่งตามการสำรวจพฤติกรรมผู้บริโภคนั้นชี้ให้เห็นว่า กลุ่มผู้สูงอายุในประเทศไทยมีกำลังซื้อสูง มีความสนใจดูแลใส่ใจสุขภาพ ชื่นชอบการทำกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ เช่นเดียวกันกับกลุ่มผู้บริโภคในช่วงอายุอื่น ๆ ทั้งยังมีแนวโน้มสนใจวัฒนธรรมและการท่องเที่ยวเดินทาง การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษานวัตกรรมการสร้างอัตลักษณ์ตราสินค้าแฟชั่นไลฟ์สไตล์สำหรับกลุ่มผู้บริโภคสตรีสูงวัยที่มีแนวโน้มสนใจวัฒนธรรม และการนำนวัตกรรมที่เหมาะสมเข้าไปสนับสนุนการตอบสนองความต้องการด้านการบริโภคสินค้าแฟชั่นไลฟ์สไตล์ ให้แก่กลุ่มสตรีสูงวัยที่มีรูปแบบหรือสไตล์การแต่งกายที่แตกต่างกันได้อย่างเหมาะสม โดยแบ่งการดำเนินการวิจัยออกเป็น 4 ส่วน ได้แก่ (1) การศึกษารูปแบบการแต่งกายและการดำเนินชีวิตของกลุ่มเป้าหมายสตรีสูงวัย ด้วยการเก็บข้อมูลรูปภาพเปเปอร์ดอล ดาต้าเซต (Paper Doll Data Set) และการใช้เครื่องมือแบบสอบถามที่ผู้วิจัยสร้างขึ้น (2) การศึกษาแนวคิดการออกแบบที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกลุ่มเป้าหมายสตรีสูงวัย ได้แก่ ทฤษฎีการออกแบบด้วยวัฒนธรรม (Cultural Design) ทฤษฎีการออกแบบเพื่อมวลชน (Universal Design) (3) กรณีศึกษาการศึกษาทุนวัฒนธรรมสิ่งทอพื้นถิ่นจังหวัดน่าน (4) การออกแบบสร้างสรรค์ผลงานจากคำตอบของการวิจัย โดยผลจากการวิจัยพบว่า นวัตกรรมอัตลักษณ์ตราสินค้าสิ่งทอแฟชั่นไลฟ์สไตล์สำหรับผู้สตรีสูงวัย มีรายละเอียดดังนี้ 1. กลุ่มผู้บริโภคสตรีสูงวัยสามารถแบ่งรูปแบบการแต่งกายได้เป็น 3 ประเภท ได้แก่ กลุ่มทันสมัยตามกระแสนิยม (Modern-Urban) กลุ่มพื้นถิ่นและวัฒนธรรม (Boho-Ethnic) และกลุ่มหรูหราอ่อนหวาน (Luxury-Feminine) ซึ่งทั้งสามรูปแบบนั้นมีวิถีชีวิตและแนวทางการแต่งกายแตกต่างกัน 2. แนวทางการออกแบบสำหรับกลุ่มผู้บริโภคสตรีสูงวัยใช้ทฤษฎีการออกแบบด้วยวัฒนธรรม (Cultural Design) และทฤษฎีการออกแบบเพื่อมวลชน (Universal Design) โดยแนวคิดการออกแบบทั้งสองก่อให้เกิดรูปแบบของชุดคำตอบที่สามารถนำไปสู่นวัตกรรมการสร้างอัตลักษณ์ตราสินค้าได้ทั้งหมด 3 รูปแบบ

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบและแนวคิดที่ได้หลังจากการสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์จากสัญลักษณ์โอม ในความเชื่อของศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู โดยใช้รูปแบบการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพและการวิจัยเชิงสร้างสรรค์ โดยศึกษาจากแนวคิดจากสัญลักษณ์โอม ในความเชื่อของศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู สัญศาสตร์ในศาสนาพราหมณ์-ฮินดู ผลงานทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการวิจัย เกณฑ์มาตรฐานศิลป์ ความคิดเห็นของผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับงานวิจัย รวมไปถึงได้ทำการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเชิงเอกสาร สัมภาษณ์ผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับงานวิจัยจำนวน 33 คน สื่อสารสนเทศอื่น ๆ สำรวจข้อมูลภาคสนามที่เทวสถานทั้งในประเทศไทยและประเทศอินเดีย ตลอดจนวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเพื่อนำมาเป็นแนวทางในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์ สรุปผล และนำเสนอผลการวิจัย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รูปแบบการแสดงมีองค์ประกอบทั้งหมด 8 ประการ ได้แก่ 1) บทการแสดง โดยวิเคราะห์จากแนวคิดองค์ประกอบทัศนศิลป์ที่ปรากฏบนสัญลักษณ์โอม แบ่งออกเป็น 3 องก์ ประกอบไปด้วย องก์ 1 จุดเริ่มต้น (Starting Point) องก์ 2 เส้นโค้งแห่งการปกป้องดูแล (The Curve of Protection) และองก์ 3 จุดสิ้นสุด (End Point) ผู้วิจัยใช้การจัดวางภาพในการแสดงจากแนวคิดการปะติดภาพ (Collage) 2) นักแสดง คัดเลือกจากผู้มีความสามารถทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์อินเดียและนาฏยศิลป์ตะวันตก 3) การเคลื่อนไหวลีลา นำเสนอผ่านรูปแบบนาฏยศิลป์หลังสมัยใหม่ โดยการนำแนวคิดของ อิสดอรา ดันแคน (Isadora Duncan) ในแนวคิดการเคลื่อนไหวร่างกายอย่างอิสระ (Free Spirit) พอล เทย์เลอร์ (Paul Taylor) แนวคิดการใช้ท่าทางในชีวิตประจำวัน (Everyday Movement) สตีฟ แพกซ์ตัน (Steve Paxton) แนวคิดการเคลื่อนไหวลีลาโดยใช้ปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างร่างกายในแบบด้นสด (Body Contact Improvisation) อาครัมคาน (Akram Khan) แนวคิดการใช้ทักษะท่าทางนาฏยศิลป์อินเดียมาผสมผสานกับนาฏศิลป์แบบตะวันตก 4) เสียงเป็นการแสดงแบบดนตรีสดโดยใช้เครื่องดนตรีที่สามารถสื่อถึงอารมณ์และความรู้สึก ได้แก่ ขันทิเบต เชลโล่ กลองตับบลา กลองไทโกะ 5) อุปกรณ์การแสดง ใช้แนวคิดสัญลักษณ์ที่เน้นความเรียบง่าย สามารถสื่อสารความหมายอย่างชัดเจน 6) เครื่องแต่งกาย เป็นการลดทอนการแต่งกายของอินเดียโดยการนำแนวคิดมินิมอลลิสม์ (Minimalism) ที่ให้ความสำคัญกับความเรียบง่าย 7) …

การบรรเลงเดี่ยวเปียโนเป็นการแสดงออกถึงความสามารถและศักยภาพของผู้บรรเลง ผู้วิจัยได้ศึกษาและบรรเลงเดี่ยวเปียโนมาโดยตลอดทำให้มีความสนใจในการบรรเลงเปียโนในมิติที่แตกต่างจากเดิม จึงเริ่มทำการศึกษาบทเพลงประเภทเชมเบอร์อย่างจริงจัง งานวิจัยดนตรีสร้างสรรค์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาศักยภาพในการบรรเลงเปียโนในด้านต่าง ๆ ของผู้แสดง เช่น เทคนิคการบรรเลง และการตีความบทเพลง 2) เผยแพร่บทประพันธ์ประเภทรวมวงขนาดเล็กที่สำคัญแก่ผู้สนใจ 3) เผยแพร่บทประพันธ์ของไทยที่มีเอกลักษณ์ไปสู่สากลโลก และ 4) รวบรวมข้อมูลบทเพลง ผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกบทประพันธ์เชมเบอร์ที่มีชื่อเสียงและมีความสำคัญต่อวรรณกรรมในยุคบาโรก ยุคคลาสสิก ยุคโรแมนติก และยุคปัจจุบัน โดยแบ่งออกตามประเภทของเครื่องดนตรีที่ใช้ประกอบการบรรเลง 3 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มเครื่องสาย กลุ่มเครื่องเป่าลมไม้ และกลุ่มเครื่องผสม ทำการวิเคราะห์และตีความบทเพลง ฝึกซ้อม และจัดการแสดง 3 รายการ โดยใช้ชื่อว่า ดุษฎีนิพนธ์การแสดงดนตรี 'ดุลยภาพลีลาเสียงแห่งเชมเบอร์อองซอมเบลอร่วมสมัย' ผู้วิจัยรวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสารตำรา และงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง และนำเสนอในรูปแบบวิทยานิพนธ์ ผลจากการวิเคราะห์และตีความบทเพลงใน 3 การแสดงพบว่า การสื่อสารระหว่างผู้บรรเลงเป็นสิ่งจำเป็นในการบรรเลงบทเพลงสำหรับวงเชมเบอร์ เพื่อให้ผลงานแสดงออกถึงเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัวของผู้วิจัย ผู้วิจัยทำการตีความบทเพลง ออกแบบเครื่องดนตรีที่เหมาะสมกับแนวทำนองหลักและแนวบรรเลงประกอบ เลือกใช้เปียโนแทนการใช้ฮาร์ปซิคอร์ด รวมถึงคิดค้นการบรรเลงดังเบา และเปลี่ยนอัตราความเร็วของบทเพลง เพื่อปรับรูปประโยคให้มีความไพเราะมากขึ้นโดยใช้เทคนิค การสร้างสรรค์ลีลาลักษณะการบรรเลง (Creative Dramatic Articulation)

Quotations like the Sharpest Claws describes a multimedia installation composed of paintings and sound that explores the theory of cognitive dissonance, a controversial psychological model that attempts to explain how we deal with inconsistency in incompatible beliefs. Imagination is given primacy as a source for truth-seeking and world-building. The uncanny and surreal are used as entry points into this topic.

My practice is concerned with the activation of fragmentation, concealment and evasiveness as practical tools for surviving (the danger of visibility when positioned in the margins) while moving or engaging with oppressive power structures. Path is a collaborative system that developed over the course of five months of studio activity and continued through the duration of the exhibition. The system’s main collaborators were a land snail native to eastern North America (Neohelix albolabris), myself, and a digital cellular automaton.
