Failure To Appear is a series of photographs and collaged works that explores my layered connections between memory, unknown legacies, and knowledge of self. This body of work is not tied to any location or specific event. It is attributed to my returning to the South, returning to the institution, returning to my childhood residence and the perceived agnosia that occurred while working on a long-term project based in the Arkansas Delta.

Reflecting on my childhood spent with my brother, Austin, who experiences sensory differences due to autism, I establish a painted space that is both forcibly disjointed and meaningfully connected, invoking the uncertainty and complexity of perception and communication. Toile is a painting series that explores constructions of taste and the semiotics of manufactured fabrics. Cycle is the exhibition of a year-long project that experiments with growing food and medicinal herbs. Alongside an exploration of plant growth, I transfer iconic cultural objects of daily life from plastic to ceramics.
