During the researcher's career as a religion teacher and librarian she found very few books for primary age students about the lives of the saints. The purpose of this research project was to write an age-appropriate illustrated biography about the life of St. Therese of Liseuex. The format will include events from the life of Therese Martin from her birth, through her entrance into the Carmelite Convent until her death at twenty-four. There is a long history of debate regarding the validity of the Rorschach Inkblot test. Much of the previous research has involved adult subjects within clinical settings. This study investigates the validity of the Rorschach with adolescents classified as being emotionally disturbed according to the educational definition. School personnel and, particularly, school psychologists have the difficult task of identifying individuals who are emotionally disturbed (ED). It appears that a valid measure of covert processes may be helpful in making these determinations. This project discusses Indiana law addressing child abuse and abuse of endangered adults as it relates to the practice of psychology. Intended as a resource for 1 psychologists, this paper reviews important issues in the areas of child abuse and abuse of endangered adults, offers understandable explanations of the laws and procedures utilized in the application of these laws in Indiana, discusses ethical concerns related to confidentiality, and offers suppositions for public policy and advocacy by the profession. In addition, selected text of the Indiana Code is presented for future reference.

Religious And Spiritual Elements In Young Adult Literature: A Content Analysis, Patricia C. Rosenberg

The purpose of this study was to use content analysis to focus on the nature of traditional religious and spiritual elements in young adult fiction books.

Thirty-two books from ALA/s "Best of the Best Books 1966-1986" were read, and eight religious contexfs were checked. The findings revealed over one half of the books included moderate traditional religious contexts. About three fourths of the religious contexts were positive, but over one half of them were also negative. Most of the negatives were applied to religious workers and participants in religion. The one book which had strong religious context was totally negative. …

For some years now the need for the emphasis of moral and spiritual values in our public schools has been recognized by the Kentucky Department of Education. The department has given encouragement to numerous research projects and summer workshops held for the purpose of finding an answer to the problem of emphasizing moral and spiritual values in public education. The concern for this need has informally become known as the “Kentucky Movement.”
