Argues that “the bearers of the three Elven rings—Galadriel, Elrond, and Gandalf [...] as well as the older bearers Gil-galad and Círdan—[are] archetypal figures of a Moon-Water Goddess, a Sky-Air-Thunder God, and a Sun-Fire God.”
