Nexus Literary Journal
Nexus is a magazine that began as an insert in the Wright State Guardian student newspaper in 1965 and has since been published semi-regularly. It began only accepting creative writing, but has since expanded to include illustrations, photography and other non-written art forms. Today, it is published in a digital format and accepts submissions from around the country, though it maintains its commitment to the Wright State Community.

An Ounce Of Truth, Matilda Wyche Cox

An Ounce of Truth is a collection of poems. Subjects range from pregnancy, to growing-up Black in America, to dealing with death as a natural phenomenon. These poems, though filled with subjective experience and emotion, often intersect with objective economic and historical realities, thus forming strong political and social statements.
While most of the poems are written in free verse, which seems more appropriate to the subject matter, there are also more formal arrangements including the sestina "Talking Blues" and a concrete poem entitled "The Ninth Month."
The untitled poem by Nikki Giovanni is the unifying element of the thesis. …

For all the angry rejection and amused disinterest she received from Americans then, Frances Trollope, in the view of SUSAN S. KISSEL, masterfully discerned much of the American character that remains as true today as it was in 1832. Associate Professor of English at Northern Kentucky University, Kissel has published a number of articles on Frances Trollope and other British and American writers of the 19th and 20th centuries. Her book, In Common Cause: The "Conservative" Frances Trollope and the "Radical" Frances Wright, was recently published by The Popular Press of Bowling Green State University.
