The first is over the ne Latin American narrative, which involves identifying magic realism as a vanguard movement, using as examples the works of two authors who present characteris­tics of magic realism, Julio Cortázar from Argentina and Clarice Lispector from Brazil.

The second part considers the expression "magic realism" as the denomination of a new literary movement, the historical conceptualization of the term and its use by the critics to characterize the works of the two authors studied.

This narrative frame, utilizing the language of speech, provided him with a form within which he could explore the aspects of human experience and personality that most interested him. The desire to do a critical edition of this tragedy was prompted by the prevalence of the theme of Phaedra and Hippolytus, which has been presented repeatedly on the French stage, and because of the editor’s interest in the role that the Greek tradition played in the French classicalism of the seventeenth century. This study undertakes an examination of the doctors and illnesses in Marcel Proust’s life and of the doctors and illnesses in A La Recherche du Temps perdu. The first chapter reviews Prout’s relationship with doctors, especially with his father, who was a practicing physician. Illness, in addition to being an inconvenience, was for Proust a source of many important privileges, upon which he never ceased to draw.
