In July–August 1965, a trial excavation was conducted at HaSanhedrin street in the Jesse Cohen neighborhood of Holon (map ref. 177/656), following the exposure of signs of a settlement during the removal of sand from the ridge. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by Y. Shapira and financed by the Municipality of Holon. The remains of a settlement were discovered. A mudbrick superstructure was exposed, with two discernable construction phases.

In late June 1965, an excavation was conducted on Hill Square (Giv'at Bet Hamitbahayim) in Tel Aviv (next to the city slaughterhouse, map ref. unknown), under the direction of J. Kaplan. Granaries were discovered, hewn in the kurkar rock, that were filled with ash and pottery fragments. The bottom stratum of several of the granaries was dated to the Bronze Age, and the stratum above it was dated to the Iron Age.

In October 1965, a salvage excavation was conducted in Tirat Zvi (map ref. unknown), following the discovery of a burial cave during the laying of a water line in a vegetable shed. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by N. Zori. The cave, which was oval in shape, was found filled with earth. No ancient remains were discovered. According to the excavator, the discovery of three burial caves in the same area in the Kibbutz several years earlier corroborated the assertion that this cave was a burial cave. In December 1965, an excavation was conducted in Kibbutz Lohamei HaGeta'ot (map ref. 2091/7625), following leveling of the ground in the parking lot of the Ghetto Fighters House museum. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by Y. Ben Yosef, with the assistance of Sh. Moskowitz (surveying and plans). The site was previously damaged as a result of construction work, the planting of trees, illegal kurkar mining and the plundering of graves.

In March 1965, a salvage excavation was conducted in Shefar’am, between Horbat Ofra and Bir al-Maktzur (map ref. 21945/74292), following the discovery of a burial cave during the widening of the Shfaram-Nazareth road by the National Roads Company of Israel. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by Y. Ben Yosef, with the assistance of A. Zigelman (surveying and drafting).

In 1965, a trial excavation was conducted in the Old City of Tiberias under the direction of A. Druks, prior to development works in the area (map ref. unknown). The remains of walls which were dated to the Early Islamic period were exposed, as well as numerous pottery fragments and coins. A stone-paved building with various installations, that was dated to the Crusader period, was partly exposed.

In January–February 1965, salvage excavations were conducted at Khirbat Sharta and Khirbat Sharatti, near Kefar Ata (presently Qiryat Ata; map ref. 212/746), following the discovery of a burial cave during ground leveling. The excavations, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, were directed by A. Ovadya. Khirbat Sharta and Khirbat Sharatti are located on two hills facing each other. In 1967, another excavation was conducted at Khirbat Sharta following the discovery of an additional burial cave that was dated to the Byzantine period.

In October 1965, an excavation was conducted at Ramla (map ref. unknown) under the direction of A. Eitan and M. Rosen-Ayalon. Four occupational phases were exposed, comprising floors and limited architectural remains, including stone-built channels, a basin, a kiln, and segments of walls. According to the excavator, the assemblages from all four phases were homogeneous and dated to the eighth century CE.
