In June 1951, an excavation was conducted along the Bet She'an–Hamadiya waterline, which passes through the slopes of Tel Iztabba (map ref. unknown). The excavation was directed by N. Zori. The remains of buildings that were dated to the Hellenistic period were exposed, consisting of walls built of basalt stones and silt floors. Two built cisterns were found. In one of the buildings was a large number of loom weights made of clay, and two fingers of a palm made of bronze, which belonged to a huge statue according to the excavator. In November 1951, a trial excavation was conducted in the ‘Shikun Olim’ housing complex in Tiberias (map ref. unknown), following the discovery of a mosaic floor during the digging of a sewage channel east of the complex. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by B. Ravni. The excavators noticed that the floor was incomplete and excavated further to the west to check for additional remains. The mosaic floor extended over two adjacent rooms, possibly further in rooms that were not excavated.

In 1951, an excavation was conducted in the area of Kibbutz Yif’at and Kibbutz Gvat (map ref. 2200/7310), following the discovery of a mosaic floor during the digging of trenches in the 1948 War of Independence. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by Y. Shapira. Part of a mosaic floor, built of tiny stones precisely cut, was discovered. In July 1951, a salvage excavation was conducted in Tiberias, in the area between the Muslim cemetery in the north and the Sewage Treatment plant in the south (map ref. unknown). The excavation began under the direction of M. Dothan and continued under the direction of B. Ravni. In January 1951, an excavation was conducted on a hill southeast of Kibbutz Na’an (map ref. 187/643), following the discovery of graves and artifacts made of pottery and bronze during construction of the kibbutz's industrial buildings. The excavation, on behalf of the Department of Antiquities and Museums, was directed by E. Ben Dor. The excavation continued a previous excavation at the site in 1950, under the direction of J. Ori, in which 12 graves were exposed.
