Hyundai Motor Group's investment in the electric vehicle (EV) industry in Indonesia reflects the convergence of green economy strategies between Indonesia and South Korea. The study aims to analyze the contribution of Hyundai investment in the development of the local EV ecosystem, including technology transfer, supporting infrastructure, and its impact on the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The research method used is a qualitative study with a case study approach. Indonesia’s 2025 accession to BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) appears at odds with the country’s long-standing bebas-aktif (“free and active”) tradition of non-alignment. This article explains the move through a layered realist approach and a purely theoretical, deductive method. First, the study integrates structural, offensive, and neoclassical realism to clarify four key mechanisms external balancing, hedging, relative gains, and status-seeking. It then maps propositions about what BRICS can offer Indonesia and tests them against existing realist scholarship on middle powers and emerging-power clubs. This essay focuses on the mediation of spectatorship experience by “ephemeral media” in Liang Dynasty (南朝梁, 502-557) palace-style poetry and Hou Hsiao-hsien’s film A City of Sadness (1989). Drawing from Alexander Galloway’s “the interface effects” in new media studies, I investigate how the diegetic “ephemeral media” in these two texts, such as dust, candlelight, silence, and writing, function as opaque interfaces that complicate spectatorship. This thesis examines China's engagement with international legal frameworks in the Arctic through a lawfare lens, using a structured analytical framework to assess whether Chinese activities constitute lawfare. Focusing on two key cases—China's involvement in submarine cable infrastructure and its navigation of the Northern Sea Route—the research applies Andrea Beck's three-part definition of lawfare: "(1) the misuse of the law in order to, (2) achieve a military objective, and (3) undermine the legal framework." This research explores artworks within the Global Baroque as visual and ideological evidence through which colonial power, trade, and cross-cultural influence shaped the material culture of the early modern world. Centering on blue and white ceramics as a key medium of transcultural and trans-local exchange, the study analyzes how global motifs, particularly those drawn from Aztec and Chinese traditions, were reinterpreted, aestheticized, and circulated in Aztec and Novohispanic artistic practices.

This paper analyzes the struggles for democracy and equality in modern China, from the fall of the Qing Dynasty to the Tiananmen Square movement. It considers which struggle was more influential, evaluating the recurring theme of a fight for democracy in China since the New Culture Movement, and a quest for social and economic equality that Mao and the Chinese Communist Party committed themselves to. Ultimately, the paper concludes that the struggle for democratic norms and institutions was always present among the Chinese people, but it did not succeed in pushing the government or the Party to adopt political reforms. …

Taiwan, strategically located in the South China Sea, has long faced challenges in asserting its sovereignty. While much of the existing scholarship focuses on the 20th-century conflict between the Chinese Nationalist Party (Kuomintang) and the Chinese Communist Party, this study turns to the mid-17^th century to trace the roots of the island’s contested status. It centers on Zheng Chenggong (1624–1662), also known as Koxinga, who established the Ming loyalist Kingdom of Tungning in Taiwan (1661–1683) following the fall of the Ming dynasty. Thomas Pereira (1646–1708), a Portuguese Jesuit missionary, arrived in Beijing in 1672 and was appointed by the Kangxi Emperor (1654–1722) as his music tutor. For the emperor's music lessons, Pereira authored Lülü Zuanyao 律呂纂要 [Elements of Music] (ca. 1685), the first known Western music theory treatise written in Chinese. My translation includes the first half of Zuanyao that focuses on Western music notation, solmization, and the hexachordal system. As a product of the global circulation of musical knowledge in the early modern period, Zuanyao is significant in three ways. This study explores the relationship between different forms of racial harassment and mental health issues in Asian American college students. Asian American mental health is a growing concern in the field of public health. Asian Americans have the lowest treatment rates and some of the highest stigma levels of any demographic. They are also impacted by the model minority myth and discrimination, further alienating them from getting help. The topics of subtle racism, blatant racism, and current racial discrimination were compared to depressive symptoms, anxiety, self-esteem, and four domains of aggression using survey data. Between 1932 and 1945 an estimated 200,000 women across the globe were coerced into becoming comfort women for the Japanese military. As comfort women they were forced to prostitute themselves to soldiers, and endured physical, psychological and emotional torture. While comfort stations were liberated in 1945 with the end of World War II, the Japanese government has yet to formally apologize for their treatment of comfort women, and has failed to meet the demands of survivors and their families who seek reconciliation and justice. 本文首先從尋根文學與民族認同理論出發，探討其與男性敘事之間的關聯，並分析莫言如何通過對高密東北鄉文化的書寫，將「尋根」視為對傳統文化的回溯與現代民族身份的重構。其次，文章將深入分析余佔鰲在小說中的行動模式與文化象徵，探討其與土地、高粱、暴力與戰爭等元素的深層互動，如何展現出一種原始而激烈的陽剛生命力，進而成為民族精神與歷史記憶的承載者。

此研究聚焦邱妙津的《鱷魚手記》與珍奈．溫特森的《柳橙不是唯一的水果》，並以女性主義與酷兒理論為分析框架，探討女同志群體的生命經驗及其挑戰異性戀文化規範的方式。文中探討兩個核心問題：其一，作者為何選擇自傳式小說作為「現身」的形式；其二，「現身」對作者及女同志群體的意義。研究方法包括文本細讀及符號學理論的應用。

研究指出，在各自的文化背景影響之下，《鱷魚手記》批判台灣社會中的恐同風氣，並反思媒體獵奇報導的傷害；而《柳橙不是唯一的水果》則解構基督教文化中二元性傳統對女性與同志的壓迫，並展示身份探索的多元可能性。這兩部作品皆通過自傳式小說隱匿作者身份，創造安全的發聲空間，兼具個人療愈與社會運動的意義。文本中隱含的寓言故事則呈現兩位作者對性別、身份、社會規範與文化壓迫所進行的反思，同時賦予文本更多樣化的敘事風格。

《鴛鴦夢》由葉小紈（字蕙綢，1613-1657）創作，為中國戲曲史上現存最早由女性劇作家創作的作品。同代著名劇作家沈自徵盛讚它為「補閨閣所未有」，肯定了它在女性戲曲史上開創先河的成就。目前對於《鴛鴦夢》的研究均從葉小紈的生平背景出發，分析劇本中所表現的「姐妹情誼」，並以「女性劇作」的角度給予評價。然而，拋開了對葉小紈「第一位女性劇作家」的濾鏡，《鴛鴦夢》的作品本身仍然有很多可以討論的空間，本文嘗試回歸文本本身，探索《鴛鴦夢》是否還有未盡之處，重新審視《鴛鴦夢》在中國戲曲史的所在之位。

本文以「夢境書寫」與「謫仙敘事」為雙主軸，突破性別視角的單一框架，回歸文本內部結構分析，重新定位《鴛鴦夢》在戲曲史與文學傳統中的意義。在「夢境」敘事方面，劇中通過「以情補夢」的敘事轉向，將短暫現世昇華為情感的永恆性。又延續了了前的「謫仙」敘事，提出了「情證」敘事，角色將情感體驗轉化為力量，支撐他們達成從「短暫」到「永恆」的轉變。

The evolution of institutions in selecting government officials in ancient China reflected efficiency considerations and increased power concentration in the hands of the ruler. Selecting government officials in ancient China became more rule‐based over time, and standardisation and centralisation were some key features of this process. In this dynamic model, a higher volume of transactions, shown as the number of candidates needed to be evaluated, leads to institutionalisation, which has a higher fixed cost but a lower marginal cost in processing each transaction. How geography affects the choice of institutions is studied in a theoretical model. In this model, nations are located around a circle. Rulers compete through choosing tax rates, the level of military spending, and the degree of formality of institutions. Geographic condition is captured by population density. It is shown that societies with higher population densities choose lower tax rates, establish more formal institutions, and give government officials lower levels of autonomies than those with lower population densities do. Building upon comparative principles, this semantic reading of Jun’ichirō Tanizaki’s essay In Praise of Shadows and J.M.G. Le Clézio’s early writings illustrates how both the Franco-Mauritian author and the Japanese writer problematize modern Western perception laden with concepts stifling flexible imagination through the mysterious worldview of light/darkness. They also simultaneously express the hope that another way of life leading to liberation is possible.
