Contemporary feminism and its emergence in the early 20th century may seem like a recent phenomenon; however, the idea of feminism has been evolving over the centuries and what may be called a “proto-feminism” could be found in one of China’s classical literary masterpieces, known as the Daodejing. Classical Chinese philosophy has influenced and helped shape what feminism is today in China. 清代昭槤的著名筆記《嘯亭雜録》，存在著不少記載失實或錯誤的地方。本文對其中“本朝文人多壽”、“老年科目”、“青年科目”這三條進行考察辨析，理清事實，更正錯誤，藉以梳理相關歷史人物的生卒年問題，同時增進對《嘯亭雜録》乃至其他同類著作的認識。

唐人《幽蘭賦》意象源流論, Hanglun Zhan

唐人《幽蘭賦》意象的源頭是屈原的《離騷》和託名孔子的《幽蘭操》。《文苑英華》中收録六篇《幽蘭賦》，一篇是初唐楊炯的古賦，另外五篇是題下限韵的律賦，爲大曆十三年進士試賦。這些賦作中的幽蘭意象一方面對屈原或孔子有所繼承，另一方面對幽蘭意象的内涵有所改造與豐富。中國文學“意象”的特色之一是：意象的内涵既具有歷史的傳承性，又隨著時空語境的變遷而發生變化。當代電影《孔子》主題曲《幽蘭操》既有對傳統意象的誤讀，在某種意義上也顯示出對古典美的回歸。

馮夢龍《太平廣記鈔》的編纂和評點, Yunmei Kang

明末馮夢龍有鑒於《太平廣記》在明代印行的訛亂缺漏情況，遂從事《太平廣記》的編纂整理，完成《太平廣記鈔》一書。在《太平廣記鈔·小引》中，馮夢龍陳述對於全書進行去同存異、芟繁就簡、併類合事、前後更置、削簡事件、減省字句等編纂。本文嘗試分析馮夢龍如何具體落實這些編纂工作，將500卷的《太平廣記》縮編爲80卷的《太平廣記鈔》。此外，本文還意圖探究馮夢龍《太平廣記鈔》中的評點，包括評點的形式、立場和功能，以及其中所藴含的觀點。並藉探討結果綜論《太平廣記鈔》作爲一《太平廣記》選本的特色，進而與於1462年韓國朝鮮時代儒者成任所完成的《太平廣記詳節》比較，討論兩部《太平廣記》選本的差異。希冀藉由本文的研究，能够全面而深入地抉發馮夢龍編纂和評點《太平廣記鈔》的特色與意藴。

權力意志 : 清高宗乾隆帝譏斥錢謙益詩文再議, Chi Hung, Lawrence Yim

清高宗乾隆皇帝 (1736-1795 在位) 對批判明清易代之際文壇宗主錢謙益 (牧齋，1582-1664) 似乎有一種情結或執念，無所不用其極。檢《清實録·高宗純皇帝實録》，乾隆《御製詩集》、《文集》，乾隆二十六年至五十四年(1761-1789)之28年間，關涉牧齋者（包括直接因牧齋而發或提及牧齋者），至少有諭、令等19件，詩12題15首。前賢論乾隆之批判牧齋，切入點多在乾隆關於牧齋的諭旨及其種種政治舉措，此乃大關節大問題，固宜先攻破之，但筆者以爲，值得一併考論者，還有學者尚未注意到的乾隆所寫關於牧齋的古今體詩。有鑒於學者對乾隆的相關諭令著墨已多，成果豐碩，但全面探論乾隆相關詩作者尚未之見，本文擬另闢蹊徑，將探論的重心放置於乾隆的詩作，而輔之以乾隆的相關諭令，如此，或能更完整地瞭解乾隆帝譏斥牧齋的情實，並能進一步拓展此一研究課題的深度與廣度。

丁茶山的中國易學史論, Wai Ming, Benjamin Ng

丁茶山是朝鮮易學史上極重要人物。他在《周易四箋》及《易學緒言》分别提出具啓發性的方法論，及對中國歷代易學作系統性批判。前者提出研究《周易》的四大方法，後者以此四法爲標準評價中國歷代易學。本研究以此二著作爲主要參考，考察茶山對中國歷代易學的評價。這不但有助了解茶山易學的特色及貢獻，而且亦可窺見實學與朱子學的關係及朝鮮儒學的創意及其局限性。

顧頡剛與崔述, Ching Chang Lin

探討崔述和顧頡剛學術的關係的論文已有多篇，但多從學術史的角度切入，論述崔述對顧頡剛古史考辨思想的淵源。其實，顧頡剛對當代學術史的貢獻，即樹立一個整理古人著作的方法和準繩，作爲後人模仿效法的對象。本文舉他兩次重編《崔東壁遺書》爲例，説明他蒐集資料的方法及其對後代的影響。全文分《前言》、《崔述的生平》、《蒐尋崔東壁遺書》、《重編崔東壁遺書》、《上海古籍版崔東壁遺書》、《顧頡剛對崔述的評價》、《結語》七小節，重點在第三、四、五三個小節。

劉禹錫與元白詩派的離合, Caizhi Chen

拙著《元白詩派研究》將晚年與白居易唱和的劉禹錫劃入元白詩派，曾引發異議。確實，歷來文學史對劉禹錫的定位，都是視其爲中唐元白與韓孟兩大詩派之外的優秀詩人，自具風格，别有個性。但劉禹錫晚年的詩歌創作，因爲與白居易交往唱和而有所變化，也同樣是不爭的事實，只是没有受到充分的重視而已。二人詩風因交互影響而不免有趨同傾向，歷史上也屢有劉冠白戴的誤判，其中還包括方虚谷、王漁洋和袁隨園等赫赫有名的詩評家。本文擬在詳細排比劉禹錫與白居易交遊唱和詩基礎上，論述他們詩歌創作上的交互影響之跡，以求辨析劉禹錫與元白詩派的離合。

《文章辨體》的分類與選篇, Fan Zong

明初吳訥所編之《文章辨體》55卷，既是一部著名的詩文總集，也是一部影響深遠的文章辨體學著作。至於該書的文體數量，諸家所言不一。今依照國家圖書館所藏明天順八年刻本《文章辨體》卷首詳目，並結合“序題”和正文，認定該書實際分爲58體。吳訥批判地繼承了前代詩文總集的編纂思想和分類方法，他將《文選》、《文苑英華》貫通古今的氣魄，《文章正宗》“明義理、切世用”的編纂思想和古今正變觀念，以及《唐文粹》、《宋文鑑》、《元文類》所展示的文體分類方法加以融會、提升，集其菁英，棄其未當，編成了一部思想正統、體制宏大、古今兼收、源流判然的詩文總集。將該書與《古賦辯體》等書比較，可知其選篇情況亦對前代總集多有繼承與發展。儘管《文章辨體》亦有瑕疵，但其對中國古代文體學發展的貢獻是十分突出的，許多真知灼見至今仍有參考價值。

《宣室志》作者張讀墓誌考, Shangjun Chen

張讀著《宣室志》是唐後期重要的志怪小説集，以往對他的家世生平瞭解甚少，僅知他是張薦孫，牛僧孺的外孫，大中間登進士第，該書撰成時比較年輕。僖宗時追隨入蜀，官至禮部侍郎。今根據西安碑林新入藏徐彦若撰其墓誌，得以完整瞭解他的生平履歷。知道他是唐初著名小説家張文成的四世孫；其父張希復是《酉陽雜俎》作者段成式的好友，雖因早亡未有著作存世，但段書中許多次提到他對於新奇事物的興趣。其母爲牛僧孺女，叙述其父母婚姻的部分也提示他文學來源的另一綫索。墓誌罕見地爲此小説世家保存了珍貴記録。而對存世《宣室志》遺文的截止時間，以及苗台符曾爲撰序，基本可認爲該書譔寫於他二十歲左右。此後他進士及第，宦海浮沉，雖與文學活動漸遠，但足以瞭解他完整履歷，足稱珍貴。

廖恩燾 : 詩界革命一驍將, Quanzhang Hu

從1903年攜帶一批“俗曲新唱”的新粤謳作品登上《新小説》“雜歌謡”專欄，在“詩界革命”主陣地奏響啓蒙救亡的主旋律，成爲《新小説》第一詩人，到1906年創作“以舊風格含新意境”的古巴紀事詩和域外竹枝詞，被飲冰室主人譽爲“詩史”和“地志”，與黄遵憲一樣“餘事爲詩人”的晚清外交官廖恩燾，憑藉其貢獻給20世紀初年新詩壇的三個系列五十多篇詩歌作品，在詩界革命陣營扮演了他人不可替代的重要角色，洵爲詩界革命一驍將。時至今日，當我們從原始報刊文獻史料出發重新勘察、篩選、描述與定位詩界革命詩人群及其代表詩人，當我們以客觀公允的歷史態度重寫中國近代文學史和詩歌史的時候，實在不該再遺漏掉被塵封了一個多世紀的新派詩人廖恩燾。

仍在胡適的延長綫上 : 有關中國學界中古禪史研究之反思, Zhaoguang Ge

本文從1980年代以來中國大陸對於禪宗研究狀況的討論開始，探討在當時“文化熱”背景下禪宗研究存在的問題與方法，並且介紹迄今爲止中國大陸的禪宗研究狀況。試圖指出，1920-1930年代，胡適開創了中國學界禪宗研究的現代典範，他大力提倡並且身體力行的歷史學與文獻學結合的方法，至今仍是中國學界在禪宗尤其是禪宗史研究領域最擅長、最有希望也是最有成績的。本文在簡單介紹了日本與歐美禪宗史研究界的各種現狀，並與中國對比之後，强調中國學界關於禪宗尤其是禪宗史研究，至今仍在胡適當年的延長綫上，歷史學與文獻學結合，至今仍是應當努力的方法。

Taiwanese Traditional Musical Idioms Meet Western Music Composition: An Analytical And Pedagogical Approach To Solo Piano Works By Tyzen Hsiao, Yi-Chuan Tsai

Since Western classical music was introduced in Taiwan, many contemporary Taiwanese composers have been experimenting with different musical forms and techniques. The members of the Third Generation of Taiwanese Composers began to lead the modernization of Taiwanese music after 1960. They proposed the establishment of a specifically Taiwanese musical tradition, one which would reach out to Taiwanese audiences through the incorporation of familiar folk songs and musical idioms, while incorporating Western compositional techniques and forms.

This thesis utilizes the Hegelian concept of self-consciousness development to explore the formation of the autonomous woman within the New Woman movement of the British fin de siècle and the literature of women writers in 1980s Post-Mao China. The sexual figuration of the New Woman via an unremitting male gaze as well as the absence of individual awareness due to limited reflective self-assessment lead to a misrepresentation of the female figurehead in fin de siècle Britain. This special issue offers explorations of women, writing, and visuality in contemporary Chinese literature and culture, following up on a previous issue titled “Nation, Gender, and Transcultural Modernism in Early Twentieth‐Century China,” which was published in Frontiers of Literary Studies in China (vol. 8, no. 1, 2014). Water under Time, the novel by the reputed Chinese fiction writer Fang Fang, appropriates and reconstructs the conventions of the hysteric narrative as an affective form of feminine history telling and writing. The novel, which accounts Hankou city’s past through the heroine’s life story, illustrates how feminine hysteria provides a gendered lens of reconstructed historical authenticity via the panorama of China’s early Republican period, the anti‐Japanese War, and the present new millennium. Western reference works regard the architectural term pagoda as being of uncertain origin, but an overlooked etymology proposed by Liang Sicheng convincingly solves the mystery: The word is Chinese, with the literal meaning “eight” (pa) “cornered” (ko) “tower” (La). Liang Sicheng, who pioneered the serious study of classical Chinese architecture, pointed out:

‘The octagonal pagoda, which first appeared in the Tomb Pagoda of Ching-tsang in 746, was the first “pa-go-da” in the real sense of the term.’

This article examines the representation of emotion and desire in Ah Cheng's The King of Chess (Qi wang). The interpretation of The King of Chess has been oriented toward an allegorical reading that revolves around grand cultural concepts, such as aesthetics, Taoist tradition, cultural consciousness, and national identity. In this paradigm of reading, the literary text has largely become a footnote of the master narrative of China's cultural reconstruction of the 1980s.
