The first issue was published in 1976 and the last one in September 2008, with publication occurring at irregular intervals (Pekar died in 2010). Publishers were, at various times, Harvey Pekar himself, Dark Horse Comics, and DC Comics. In addition to R. The issue of February 7, 1975 included an interview with Ruth Kligman, author of Love Affair: Memoirs of Jackson Pollock, and Jackie Curtis, actor. They spoke at a lecture called "Against Nature" that Seaver Leslie organized on January 29, 1975. Their interview contained stories about their relationship with Andy Warhol and the Factory.
