RISD Voice was a long-running student newspaper that ran through the 1980s. This issue, dated January 18, 1989, includes articles on Martin Luther King Jr., art world updates, changes in spring registration, a new co-op art gallery founded by RISD students and alumni called Moxie Logic, a new Act in Rhode Island mandating AIDS testing of certain segments of the population, the dangers of working with certain materials in non-ventilated spaces, using gouache, RISD meal plans, and life outside of RISD, along with editorials, comics, notices, and advertisements.

The first issue was published in 1976 and the last one in September 2008, with publication occurring at irregular intervals (Pekar died in 2010). Publishers were, at various times, Harvey Pekar himself, Dark Horse Comics, and DC Comics. In addition to R.
