SHE SAT ON the steps, idly digging her feet into the 10 in front of her. She watched with satisfaction as the ground brown of her shoes became streaked and dusty from the glossy earth sifting over them, She wondered whether anyone Sandy reprimand her. Testing An Original Story In Multiple Artistic Mediums, Alexander F. Morton May 2015

Testing An Original Story In Multiple Artistic Mediums, Alexander F. Morton

Undergraduate Honors Theses

The Story is one of the oldest forms of communication between humans. Various methods have enhanced and updated the Art in a variety of ways since the concept was created. In modern times, a story can exist in multiple mediums because of the variations that humans use today to tell stories. I present an artistic project that will show my development of an original universe, plot, and characters into a storyline introduction for enjoyable purposes. A Characterization Of Amarantha, Robert Malsberry Apr 2015

A Characterization Of Amarantha, Robert Malsberry

Manuscripts

One of the most backward sections in North Carolina is the setting, and the reader is made vividly aware of this' typical "Tobacco Road" backdrop. Amarantha is a farm girl-used to farm life and used to handling animals. The simplification of her name to the harsh and ugly "Mare" fully illustrates the crudeness and coarseness she is exposed to from birth. The author emphasizes Amarantha's faulty speech traits, but the reader feels no contempt for her-s-only pity for her lack of a normal educational background. Along with the …

Idler Meets Mr. Machine-Man, Paul Ross Apr 2015

Idler Meets Mr. Machine-Man, Paul Ross

Manuscripts

IDLER PAUSED to brush the beads of sweat, worry, from his forehead. He watched as the droplets fell to the dusty road of Life, landing in the footprint of the traveler several yards ahead of him. He studied the footprints, concluding that they were made by a person in great haste. This realization caused a cloud of gloom to pass over Idler's face, for he hated to see anyone in such a predicament. No person in this world can be enjoying himself when he has imbibed that destructive potion, Hurry, as this poor soul has evidently done, he decided...
