This paper offers a description of how ePortfolios can be used in world language learning programs--specifically Arabic-- not only to assess the success of the program but also to provide students with a platform for reflection, self regulation and self assessment. ePortfolios allow students to set and review their goals, engage with and reflect upon their learning as they document and track the progress of their language proficiency and intercultural competence starting from first year courses and ending with a capstone Signature Work project.

Annotation: One of the main issues in Arabic Linguistic is «grammatical status - إِعرَاب » (changing of the endings of words). «Changing of the endings of words» doesn’t mean changing the actual ending of the word itself (e.g.. the last letter), because the actual ending itself won’t change. What we’re changing here is the condition of the ending of words, which means that words transition from one state to another, regardless of whether that happens explicitly or implicitly. War is so omnipresent in our contemporary world that the story of war is too important to be left to fiction writers to frame and give meaning for. This dissertation provides an analysis of two dominant patterns in contemporary Iraqi and American prose fictional representations of the Iraq War: the individualistic trauma hero narrative and the nationalistic, collective narrative. I argue that the trauma hero myth that dominates American representations of the Iraq War psychologizes and de-politicizes war experience alienating the victim of trauma by decontextualizing their experience and negating the Other. Language is a critical basis of local identity and a vital tool for global communication. In multilingual Morocco, the issue of language instruction has been highly politicized, a factor that has contributed to poor educational practice. This article aims at providing a brief description of Morocco’s linguistic landscape together with the language policies first established in Morocco by the French colonizer. It goes on to further assess the evolution of language education policy and makes recommendations for strengthening Morocco’s multilingualism.

This study explores Palestinian women’s performativity regarding the thob as a form of agency. As wearers, designers, and advocators of the Palestinian thob, they gain authority over the discursive inventions of cultural and national symbols. Recent research of information technology (IT) end-user cybersecurity-related risky behaviors has focused on items such as IT user decision-making, impulsiveness, and internet use as predictors of human cyber vulnerability. Theories which guide user human behavioral intent, such as protection motivation theory (PMT, introduced by Rogers, 1975) and technology threat avoidance theory (TTAT, introduced by Liang and Xue, 2009) have not been widely investigated as antecedents of risky cybersecurity behavior (RScB). This dissertation describes exploratory research that analyzed and evaluated PMT/TTAT factors as predictors of RScB by enterprise IT users. The company experienced a high volume of recordable injuries and decided it was time to implement an ergonomic program in order to drive down the number of ergonomic related injuries. The ergonomics program was implemented in mid-2016 and positively impacted the company’s incident rate. Due to the high ergonomic related incident rate the company had in 2016, the decision was made to implement an ergonomic improvement program in 2017. Aljamiado literature, composed in Romance and recorded in Arabic script by Moriscos before their final expulsion from Spain, represents a valuable resource for the linguistic study of the contact situations between Arabic and Romance varieties in the Iberian Peninsula. By examining Arabic insertions in Romance texts, we are able to probe the degree of bilingualism that these communities exhibited and the factors that led to a continued use of the Arabic language in the face of religious and linguistic persecution between the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries.
