Hamlet In Narnia: The Prince And The Poem In Lewis’S Chronicles Of Narnia, Sarah R. A. Waters

Mythlore: A Journal of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Charles Williams, and Mythopoeic Literature

C.S. Lewis is little-known for his Shakespeare scholarship except perhaps for his lecture “Hamlet: The Prince or the Poem” for the British Academy (1942). This essay begins by discussing Lewis’s approach to the play and his desire to reenchant his audience with the play he had loved as a child, before character-criticism got in the way. It then explores how Lewis takes the Prince and the aspects he found most affective in Hamlet out of the play and explores them, imaginatively, in another world: recasting them “for children” in Narnia. The essay considers Hamlet in The Silver Chair in …

Grammar books are replete with various terms and concepts, encompassing diverse boundaries and connotations that have contributed to the study of grammar in one manner or another. The idea serves as the fundamental dimension in terminology, acting as the cohesive step requisite for its sociological applicability and usability. Before the manifestation of a term in its physical form, it existed as an abstract mental image, reflecting the amalgamation of individual topics, generally unified by standard features or as an intellectual representation of tangible and abstract entities. Terms are, therefore, symbols of concepts as we perceive them, underscoring that concepts were …

This study aims at determining whether the rulings of Iddah are based on logical reasoning or if they are purely devotional without apparent rationale. Additionally, it examines the argument for disregarding Iddah provisions when lineage can be confirmed through DNA testing and based on a man's marital imprint. The …

Al Jinan الجنان

In the midst of discussions about the issue of women and debates about their equality with men, whether absolute or relative, this research aims to clarify that this issue should be examined based on its reality and actual circumstances. The first to argue against absolute equality between male and female was the grandmother of the prophet Issa (Jesus Christ), (mother of Mary, wife of Imran, peace be upon them). It was shown that the Quran supports this view by mentioning her statement without refuting it, thus confirming it. The verse that mentioned this was constructed in a remarkable manner, intended …
