Introduction: Dementia is a condition that modern medicine is ill-equipped to address, and to which art may have much to offer. This project combines reflective and creative processes in a theater collaboration between patients, caregivers, and healthcare students. The goal was to explore the ways in which theater can heal, and to better understand the patient experience of dementia.

Methods: I worked with Teya Sepinuck on this project. We met with participants individually to conduct interviews about personal stories and held group workshops to explore our collective story. We worked with a percussionist and composer to explore accompanying music. …

Since the passage of the Children's Television Act of 1990, broadcast television stations have been required to provide educational programming for children as a condition for license renewal. Since 1996, broadcasters can fulfill this obligation by providing three hours of such programming according to the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) guidelines. These requirements were later extended to broadcasters' multicast channels. With more children's programming available today than ever before from a wide variety of sources, and with changes in the ways children consume programming, the FCC has proposed to revise its rules to reflect these changes. The Bhagavad Gita is a philosophical Hindu scripture in which the god Krishna imparts lessons to the warrior prince Arjuna about sacred duty (dharma) and the path to spiritual liberation (moksha). This classical scripture has had a long and active interpretive life, and by the 19th century it had come to be regarded as a core text, if not the core text, of Hinduism. During the colonial period, interpretations of the Bhagavad Gita considered the relevance of Krishna’s lessons to Arjuna in the context of British colonial rule. John Brown, author of Slave Life in Georgia, published in London in 1854, proffered a radical approach to ending slavery in the USA in step with Marxian economics. In this paper, we will explain how Brown’s representation of subjectivity may have caused critics to neglect it. Brown treats freedom as something foreign and external. He has to learn what freedom means, first through exposure to a model of liberal citizenship and then through the experience of several modulations of fugitive liberty. วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องการแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเป็นมาและรูปแบบการแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ผู้วิจัยใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง การสัมภาษณ์กลุ่มตัวอย่าง และการสังเกตการณ์แบบไม่มีส่วนร่วม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ได้มีการพัฒนามาอย่างต่อเนื่อง ตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2444–2562 เป็นระยะเวลา 118 ปี โดยเริ่มจากการรวมตัวของชาวบ้านแห่นำเทียนพรรษาประกอบการร้องรำทำเพลงไปถวายพระสงฆ์ยังวัดพัฒนามาเป็นการแสดงหมู่เป็นชุด ๆ ในลักษณะขบวนเคลื่อนไปตามเส้นทางบนถนน โดยแบ่งการแสดงออกเป็น 2 ช่วง คือ 1. การแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาภาคกลางวัน จัดแสดงในวันเข้าพรรษา สามารถจำแนกรูปแบบการแสดงออกเป็น 3 รูปแบบ ได้แก่ การแสดงพื้นบ้านในลักษณะไม่ตายตัว การแสดงพื้นเมืองอีสาน และการแสดงร่วมสมัย 2. การแสดงในขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาประกอบแสงเสียงภาคกลางคืน มีที่มาจากการนำรูปแบบขบวนแห่เทียนพรรษาภาคกลางวันมาผสมกับการแสดงแสงเสียง จัดแสดงทั้งหมด 2 วัน คือ คืนวันอาสาฬหบูชา และคืนวันเข้าพรรษา เป็นการแสดงรูปแบบพื้นเมืองอีสานประกอบการแสดงเรื่องราว เนื้อหาของการแสดงจะสัมพันธ์กับหัวข้อหลักของการแสดงที่ถูกกำหนดขึ้น การแสดงทั้ง 2 ช่วงนี้จะสะท้อนถึงประเพณี พิธีกรรม ความเชื่อ ศิลปวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น วิถีการดำรงชีวิต การละเล่น โบราณวัตถุ และการเทิดพระเกียรติ ผ่านองค์ประกอบของการแสดง งานวิจัยฉบับนี้นอกจากจะเป็นการเผยแพร่ศิลปวัฒนธรรมเชิงพุทธศิลป์อันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของจังหวัดอุบลราชธานีแล้ว ยังเป็นประโยชน์ทางด้านการสร้างสรรค์การแสดง และด้านการศึกษาทั้งในสถาบันการศึกษาและผู้ที่ศึกษาเชิงวิชาชีพในประเทศไทยต่อไป

Topic-Comment Sentence Structure In Written English, Hongmei Wu

This study investigates the topic-comment sentence structure in written English. It finds that English makes use of both the subject-predicate structure syntactically and the topic-comment structure pragmatically. The results of this study challenge the typological claim that English sentence structures are subject-prominent which mainly follows the subject-predicate structure (Li & Thompson, 1976). Via the investigation, this study proposes that English sentence structures exhibit the properties of subject-prominent and topic-prominent languages. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่ทำให้มีการเล่นไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะในประเทศไทย วิธีเล่นไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะของชาวไทย และการเปลี่ยนแปลงของวัฒนธรรมไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะในประเทศไทย โดยผู้วิจัยใช้ข้อมูลที่ได้รับจากการสัมภาษณ์ผู้บริหาร และผู้เล่นชาวไทยที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับ “ชมรมคารุตะกรุงเทพ" รวมถึงข้อมูลที่ได้รับจากการสังเกตการณ์ภายในกิจกรรม “การแข่งขันเกม คารุตะเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์ไทย – ญี่ปุ่น" และข้อมูลที่ได้รับความอนุเคราะห์จาก “ชมรมคารุตะกรุงเทพ" มาวิเคราะห์ร่วมกับข้อมูลที่ได้จากการทบทวนวรรณกรรม ผลการศึกษา พบปัจจัยที่ทำให้มีการเล่นไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะในประเทศไทยจำนวน 4 ปัจจัย ได้แก่ ปัจจัยที่ 1 ชาวญี่ปุ่นผู้ทำหน้าที่เป็นผู้เผยแพร่ และสร้างแรงจูงใจในการเล่นไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะ ปัจจัยที่ 2 สื่อบันเทิงที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นตัวกลางนำพาวัฒนธรรมการเล่นไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะเข้าสู่ประเทศไทย อีกทั้ง สร้างแรงจูงใจในการเล่นให้แก่ผู้เล่นชาวไทย ปัจจัยที่ 3 ความสนใจในวัฒนธรรมญี่ปุ่นของชาวไทย ที่ทำหน้าที่สร้างแรงจูงใจในการเล่นไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะ และปัจจัยที่ 4 ชาวไทยผู้ทำหน้าที่เป็นทั้งผู้รับ ผู้เผยแพร่ และผู้สร้างแรงจูงใจในการเล่นไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะ ด้านวิธีเล่นไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะของชาวไทย เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับประเทศญี่ปุ่น พบข้อจำกัดทางด้านภาษา ส่งผลให้ผู้เล่นชาวไทยประยุกต์วิธีการจำไพ่ จากคิมะริจิควบคู่ไปกับการจำด้วยกลวิธีอื่นทดแทน ได้แก่ การใช้จินตภาพ การพ้องเสียง การใช้ ไวยากรณ์ภาษาไทย และการใช้จุดสังเกต ทางด้านการฝึกซ้อม พบว่า ผู้เล่นชาวไทยมีระยะเวลาใน การฝึกซ้อมน้อยกว่า และไม่พบการออกกำลังกายเพื่อพัฒนาทักษะการเล่น รวมถึง จากการสังเกตการณ์ ใน “การแข่งขันเกมคารุตะเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์ไทย - ญี่ปุ่น" พบผู้เล่นที่มีลักษณะการแตะไพ่ช้า เรียงไพ่ไม่ตรงตามกติกาที่สมาคมนิติบุคคลคะรุตะแห่งประเทศญี่ปุ่นกำหนด และนั่งพับเพียบแทน การนั่งคุกเข่าราบแบบญี่ปุ่นในขณะแตะไพ่ แสดงให้เห็นถึงความไม่ชำนาญในการเล่น อีกทั้ง มีการปรับเปลี่ยนกติกาและวิธีการอ่านบทกวีเพื่อให้เข้ากับผู้เล่นชาวไทยส่วนใหญ่ที่เป็นมือสมัครเล่น โดย การเปลี่ยนแปลงของวัฒนธรรมไพ่เคียวงิคะรุตะในประเทศไทย พบว่า ในประเทศญี่ปุ่น การเล่นไพ่ เคียวงิคะรุตะมีสถานะคล้ายกีฬาเพื่อการแข่งขัน ในขณะที่ประเทศไทยแบ่งออกเป็น 2 สถานะ ได้แก่ สถานะคล้ายกีฬาเพื่อการแข่งขัน และ สถานะเป็นการละเล่นอย่างหนึ่งที่ปรับเปลี่ยนให้เข้ากับชาวไทย

งานศึกษาวิจัยเรื่องการพัฒนาเกมเพื่อส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม โดยใช้แนวคิดเกมิฟิเคชัน มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดของเกมิฟิเคชันและออกแบบเกมิฟิเคชัน ที่ส่งเสริมการรับรู้ในเนื้อหาเรื่องราวของวัฒนธรรมไทยที่เชื่อมโยงกับในพื้นที่ของการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม 2) เพื่อศึกษาและนำเสนอแนวทางในการออกแบบเกมร่วมกับแนวคิดเกมิฟิเคชัน สำหรับการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม 3) เพื่อนำเสนอต้นแบบการออกแบบเกมโดยใช้แนวคิดเกมิฟิเคชัน จากการศึกษาวิจัยค้นพบว่าแนวคิดหลักของเกมิฟิเคชันคือการออกแบบระบบที่สามารถดึงดูดให้ผู้ใช้งานติดอยู่กับระบบนั้น โดยใช้ความเป็นเกมจูงใจในการมีส่วนร่วมจนเกิดความผูกพันเพื่อส่งผลให้ผู้เล่นเกิดพฤติกรรมตามวัตถุประสงค์ที่ตั้งไว้ เนื้อหาที่ใช้ในเกมมาจากพื้นที่การท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมในจังหวัดน่าน เนื่องจากเป็นพื้นที่ที่มีเรื่องราวทางด้านศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมที่หลากหลายแต่ยังไม่ได้รับการเผยแพร่หรือเป็นที่นึกถึงของนักท่องเที่ยวมากนัก ระเบียบวิธีการวิจัยใช้วิธีวิจัยแบบผสมด้วยการศึกษาแนวคิดทางด้านเกมิฟิเคชัน การออกแบบเกมและรูปแบบของภาพกราฟิกในเกม ร่วมกับการสัมภาษณ์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านเกมิฟิเคชันและด้านการออกแบบเกม รวมถึงการเก็บข้อมูลกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้บริโภคที่เล่นเกมมือถือและชอบท่องเที่ยวในเรื่องของพฤติกรรมและแรงจูงใจในการเล่นเกม รูปแบบของการเล่นรวมถึงแนวทางภาพกราฟิกที่ชอบในเกม นำผลจากการศึกษามาประยุกต์ใช้ในการออกแบบและพัฒนาต้นแบบเกมโดยมีรูปแบบของเกมและกลไกการเล่นที่ตอบสนองกับพฤติกรรมผู้เล่นได้เป็นการเล่นในรูปแบบการเดินเล่นอย่างอิสระหรือ Open World ซึ่งมาจากพฤติกรรมการเล่นหลักของกลุ่มเป้าหมายที่เป็นประเภท Explorers ใช้เนื้อหาด้านศิลปวัฒนธรรมในพื้นที่การท่องเที่ยวน่านมาเป็นเรื่องราวและภารกิจในเกม ผลจากการทดสอบการเล่นสามารถบอกได้ว่าเกมที่ออกแบบบนแนวคิดของเกมิฟิเคชันสามารถใช้เป็นเครื่องมือเพื่อส่งเสริมการเผยแพร่และรับรู้เนื้อหาได้ รวมถึงการนำเกมมาใช้บูรณาการกับการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมเป็นสื่อหนึ่งที่สามารถส่งเสริมกันระหว่างอุตสาหกรรมดิจิทัลคอนเทนต์และอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวได้อย่างเหมาะสมกับในยุคดิจิทัล

Over the last couple of centuries, the American short-story genre became characterized by its observations of life and human nature—specifically by using scenes of nature to highlight characters’ development and the underlying theme. While much critical attention has been given to the role of nature in the American short-story cycle, very little consideration has been given to the purpose of trees and their specific breeds within the genre. This project focuses on three distinct pedagogical approaches to analyzing trees in three short-story cycles. While scholars and critics have explored various aspects of young adult literature, few have focused on the popular, but odd, use of dead narrators. When examining the dead narrators of Veronica Roth’s Allegiant, Jay Asher’s Thirteen Reasons Why, Lauren Oliver’s Before I Fall, and Jess Rothenberg’s The Catastrophic History of You and Me, it becomes clear that the dead narrators are used as a foil for adolescent growth and maturation, and they also allow young readers to empathize with and accept death through the protagonists. This article surveys how contemporary Broadway musicals cast fat women and focuses on Hairspray. The use of fat suits and contractual weight clauses figure into the discussion of fat stigma and casting practices. Seemingly body-positive musicals both celebrate and undermine the identities staged in them.

In summary, there is plenty of evidence that supports the use of reading children’s literature in a music classroom. The following is a literary study on 20th century Alabama poet Clement Wood. As a writer, Wood lived and worked mainly in Alabama and New York, and was greatly involved and connected to the literary movements Modernism, the Southern Renaissance, and American Romanticism. He published many poems, short stories, and criticism in a variety of literary magazines, wrote his own columns, and edited journals as well.
