วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบทางวากยสัมพันธ์และความหมายของคำว่า [Khmer Word] /tɨv/ ‘ไป’ และ [Khmer Word] /mɔɔk/ ‘มา’ ในภาษาเขมรและเปรียบเทียบรูปแบบทางวากยสัมพันธ์และความหมายของคำทั้งสองกับสำนวนแปลภาษาไทย โดยเก็บข้อมูลจากนวนิยายภาษาเขมรและฉบับแปลเป็นภาษาไทย ผลการศึกษาพบว่าคำว่า [Khmer Word] /tɨv/ ‘ไป’ และ [Khmer Word] /mɔɔk/ ‘มา’ ในภาษาเขมรปรากฏในกริยาวลีและ บุพบทวลี ในกริยาวลี คำทั้งสองปรากฏเป็นทั้งกริยาเดี่ยวและปรากฏร่วมกับคำกริยาอื่น เมื่อปรากฏเป็นกริยาเดี่ยวมีความหมายแสดงการเคลื่อนที่ทางกายภาพและทิศทางการเคลื่อนที่ เมื่อปรากฏร่วมกับคำกริยาอื่น ๆ สามารถปรากฏในตำแหน่งหน้าคำกริยา มีความหมายแสดงการเคลื่อนทางกายภาพหรือการเคลื่อนที่ทางความคิดและ ทิศทางการเคลื่อนที่ ปรากฏระหว่างคำกริยา มีความหมายแสดงทิศทาง และปรากฏหลังคำกริยา มีความหมายแสดงทิศทาง การเปลี่ยนสถานภาพ การณ์ลักษณะ และเจตนาของประโยค เมื่อคำทั้งสองปรากฏในบุพบทวลี มีความหมายแสดงความสัมพันธ์ทางพื้นที่ ความสัมพันธ์ทางเวลา และความสัมพันธ์ทางปริมาณ เมื่อพิจารณาสำนวนแปล พบว่ามี 3 ลักษณะ คือ 1) สามารถแปลเป็นคำว่า ไป และ มา ในภาษาไทยได้อย่างเทียบเท่า เมื่อคำทั้งสองปรากฏเป็นกริยาเดี่ยว ปรากฏหน้าคำกริยา ปรากฏระหว่างคำกริยา ปรากฏหลังคำกริยา (ยกเว้นความหมายแสดงเจตนาของประโยค) และปรากฏในบุพบทวลี (ยกเว้นความหมายแสดงความสัมพันธ์ทางปริมาณ) 2) แปลเป็นคำว่า ไป และ มา ในภาษาไทยได้ แต่ต้องปรับรูปแบบทางวากยสัมพันธ์ เมื่อปรากฏหลังคำกริยาแสดงทิศทางและการณ์ลักษณะ และ 3) แปลเป็นคำว่า ไป และ มา ในภาษาไทยไม่ได้ เมื่อปรากฏระหว่างคำกริยา (พบเฉพาะเมื่อมีคำกริยา [Khmer Word] /rɔɔk/ ‘หา’ ตามมา) ปรากฏหลังคำกริยาแสดงเจตนาของประโยค และปรากฏในบุพบทวลีแสดงความสัมพันธ์ทางปริมาณ

On Christmas Day in 1841, Fanny Hensel presented her husband with a Christmas gift—Das Jahr—a piano cycle comprised of twelve pieces, each one depicting a month of The Year. Not long thereafter, Fanny and husband Wilhelm would collaborate to create a Gesamtkunstwerk, reworking Das Jahr and expanding it by two additional expressions: vignettes drawn into the score by Wilhelm, and epigrams, snippets of poetry by master German poets.

Code-Switching Practices In The Foreign-Language Classroom: Instructor Nativeness And Students' Perceptions, Zachary Ty Gill

In this study we investigated code-switching practices in the foreign language classroom among instructors who are native speakers of the target language (Spanish) and instructors who are non-native speakers of the target language, as well as students’ perceptions of L1 use. Participants were three college instructors of Spanish and 38 college students in an intermediate level Spanish course. The participants were observed and recorded during two hour-long classes involving group work. After the observations, the instructors completed an interview, and the students completed an online questionnaire. This study found that native instructors use less English than non-native instructors and the …

With the success of the Nieuw-Vlaamse Alliantie (N-VA), a Flemish regionalist party, in recent federal and regional elections, the continued role of regionalism in Belgian politics has been made clear. This has occurred despite significant efforts by Belgian politicians to counteract this tendency. By analyzing the impact of the six state reforms that have drastically affected the political system within the country, this paper outlines how the reforms themselves have unintentionally incentivized the political parties to pursue regionalism as a winning political strategy, which laid the groundwork for the current success of the N-VA. This paper examines the use of the term “the silent majority” from 1920-1980, tracing the term from its roots in the prohibition and moral movements of the 1920s and 1930s, to its resurfacing in the 1950s in connection to race and integration, to finally Nixon’s popularization of the term. The sources in which the term was used as such were located through Google Books, the University of Mississippi’s One Search tool, and the Chronicling America database. This dissertation investigates these chapters by means of a close reading of the Hebrew text in order to gain a better understanding of the nature of David’s kingship as it is presented in this literary unit. Luke, in the book of Acts, depicts the sharing of possessions as a practice in the Jerusalem community of the first century. The site of Tall Safut in Jordan was excavated under the direction of Donald Wimmer during the years of 1982-2001. Other than the preliminary reports and encyclopedia articles published by Wimmer, no detailed analysis of the remains and no final reports have been published since the conclusion of excavations in 2001. The site has received only brief mention in other articles and books dealing with archaeology because of its remains dating to the Middle Bronze Age, Late Bronze Age, and Iron Age. Using Alban Berg’s opera Lulu as a case study, this dissertation explores the fluid nature of cultural artifacts as they are reborn within new socio-cultural contexts. By examining several Lulu productions, this inquiry seeks to understand the changes of meaning that have occurred through the transformation of canonic works in the twentieth- and twenty-first centuries. After the strict processes of mid-twentieth-century minimalism, a new musical style has emerged which retains extensive use of repetition, but is generally more aurally accessible, based in non-functional triadic harmony, and flexible in its compositional structure. Frequent use of non-minimalist resources, musical resources from multiple styles in a single composition, and quotation from previous historical periods define this flexibility.
