Advances in data and process mining algorithms combined with the availability of sophisticated information systems have created an encouraging environment for innovations in simulation modelling. Researchers have investigated the integration between such algorithms and business process modelling to facilitate the automation of building simulation models. These endeavors have resulted in a prototype termed Auto Simulation Model Builder (ASMB) for DES models. However, this prototype has limitations that undermine applying it on complex systems. An extraordinary public intellectual of the Puerto Rican diaspora, Pura Belpré was born in Cidra, Puerto Rico in 1899 and died in New York City in 1982 after a prolific career as a children’s author, librarian, advocate, and puppeteer. Among other firsts, Belpré wrote the first mainstream Latino storybook in U.S. publishing history: Perez and Martina (House of Warne, 1932). The American Library Association has named a major children’s literature (now including Young Adult fiction) medal in her honor. In many ways, Belpré is the Zora Neale Hurston of Afro-Caribbean American literary history—with a flamboyant, polyglot twist.

在台灣新電影的發展中，楊德昌對於都市生活的刻劃有別於同期如侯孝賢等導演的鄉土懷舊抒情，他對於都市中潛伏的危機，或人與人關係的不穩定都有其與眾不同的處理手法。本文討論楊德昌的兩部電影，《牯嶺街少年殺人事件》（1991）是他作品中少見的以台灣本土歷史作題材的電影，但仍不失其對社會精準而細膩的批判。《一一》（2000）為楊德昌的遺作，透過台灣一個中產家庭的故事探討現代都市人的生存狀態，挖掘生命的意義。本文旨在探討《牯嶺街少年殺人事件》中的迷惘感、《一一》這部後期作品中所傳達的幻滅感，以及導演如何呈現兩代人所面對的不同的困境，以及存在的狀態。 本論文分為五個部分：第一章為緒論，指出楊德昌電影的主題和特色，及其在台灣新電影中的地位，並簡介兩部電影所處的歷史氛圍。第二章分析《牯嶺街少年殺人事件》中，台灣人的迷惘感。第三章討論《一一》中的幻滅感。第四章借用存在主義理論分析兩部電影所傳達的迷惘感及幻滅感。最後第五章為結論，總結這兩部電影對台灣社會歷史及人文價值的貢獻。

“Everyday transcendence” names a style of filmmaking exemplified in recent works by Terrence Malick (The Tree of Life), Richard Linklater (the Before series and Boyhood), Ari Folman (Waltz With Bashir), and Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno (Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait). In each of these films, time operates on two interrelated levels: time as we experience it and understand it in our daily lives, and time as an overarching big picture. 「帝王將相，才人佳子的故事，諸位聽得不少。那些情情義義，恩恩愛愛，卿卿我我，都瑰麗莫名。根本不是人間顏色。人間，只是抹去了脂粉的臉。」人生如戲，兩者之間從來沒有清晰的分界。

中國古代早有餘桃斷袖的典故，同志文學在幾千年來文學史上不無地位。若《品花寶鑑》是古代同性戀小說的其一代表，李碧華的《霸王別姬》就是近代文學史上的代表作。

學界對《霸王別姬》的研究無數，學者主要分析小說內容的象徵性、小說和中國歷史相關的背後隱喻、與陳凱歌的改編電影作對讀比較。此外，研究課題還包括為程蝶衣這個角色作不同的心理解讀，乃至研究程蝶衣是先天抑或是後天的同性戀者。但在研究成果中，卻鮮見結合心理、社會和舞台理論分析李碧華在小說中的同性戀建構。

本文第一部分以文本細讀的分析手段，附以心理學、性別和社會理論分析影響程蝶衣同性戀傾向的外在因素。第二部分將從中西方戲劇理論剖析舞台界線模糊與程蝶衣強化同性愛戀之關係，第三部份詳細探討其自身因素多大程度上促成小說可悲和遺憾的結局。

〈逝城〉中的人物，以「你」泛稱著正在閱讀此文的你，在即將踏入二零四七之際作為背景，長期瑟縮在家而不願面對你城萬千更替的「你」，接到了房東來信，給予了「你」搬家的命題，繼而展開搬家的工作：寫「你」找房子、更改戶籍，到最後搬屋後的狀況；同一時間，〈逝城〉又串插著「你」在家中所找到的《逝城》一書—— 一部企圖抨擊時政而最終不獲取錄的劇本，講述一個美滿家庭因社會建設的騙局而走向破碎的劇目，兩個故事雙線並行，各自暗暗地交代著香港這數十年的足跡與歲月。

就正如〈逝城〉一文中所言，「已逝之城還是將逝之城，這留待讀者的考量」。這篇文章的解讀，不同人或會有不同的意義，上一代人閱讀，也許會有一份熟悉與懷念感油然而生，因內文描寫著香港昔日的回憶，不論是「歡樂今宵」的晚安曲，或是那個「電視撈飯」的年代。但對於這一代的人而言，便是有著更深一層的想法，時代賦予了我們更多的命題：到底香港的前路如何、本土的價值、香港人的身分追尋與焦慮、甚至看完後是對「香港」一詞不禁有種悼念的感受，種種的種種均沒有一個實際的解答，然後換來的只有一份空虛與無力。希望透過〈逝城〉這篇作品，可以牽動你內心深處的某個角落，讓你能重新反思與正視香港這個城市，這片你生活已久的土地的存在。

The article analyzes Eugene Jolas’ two multilingual poems “Frontier-Poem” (1935) and “America Mystica” (1937) in the transnational context of European Union and hemispheric conceptualizations of the Americas to show how Jolas worked towards a new paradigm and terminology to name the transnational identities created through mass migrations and unstable boundaries of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Feminist folklorists have long asserted that women’s bodies are represented in fairy tales differently than men’s bodies, in normative and sexist ways. By using computational approaches to analyze a corpus of canonical fairy tales, I assess these claims and establish that women’s bodies are depicted in distinctive ways in fairy tales. This finding is important for scholars interested in fairy-tale studies, gender studies, and computational approaches to folklore studies.
