Less than 1% of minority women receive venture capital funding for technology enterprises. The purpose of the multiple case study was to explore the strategies used by Black female entrepreneurs to obtain venture capital funding for their technology businesses in the United States. The conceptual framework for the study was the social network theory of entrepreneurship. Data were collected through semistructured interviews with 5 Black female entrepreneurs who founded technology ventures in the United States. Elementary African American males achieve proficiency at a lower rate than their peers in both reading and math. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to understand how elementary school teachers described their use of equitable strategies in teaching elementary African American male students, how these teachers described the experience of teaching African American male students, and how they used equitable strategies to shape the classroom environment to engage African American male students. The performance measures from the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study revealed no measurable growth in the U.S. average reading scores of 4th graders for the period between 2011 and 2016. Evidence derived from the 2012 and 2015 College Senior Surveys (CSS) noted showed that college seniors, at a historically Black university, graduated with little to average soft skills. Soft skills, such as personal characteristics and relations with others, are needed for students to succeed in postgraduate careers. This qualitative phenomenological study explored the development of women with an engineering background who became leaders. The purpose of this study was to explore the lived experiences of female engineering leaders in the New York utility sector. The research problem was why few women with engineering degrees obtain leadership positions. Women comprise half the total working population, yet few hold leadership positions, especially in the utility sector. Students with learning disabilities are often unable to master reading comprehension and often fail to acquire reading comprehension skills at basic levels as measured on reading achievement assessments. Reading intervention programs Compass Learning and SRA Corrective Reading teach students how to apply strategies to their reading to improve their understanding of written text. There is also limited peer reviewed literature that compares the characteristics of people who use the two malaria prevention methods. The U.S. Selective Service System currently excludes women from the talent pool based upon the DoD's 1981 ban on women in direct combat. The DoD has removed the exclusion and has implemented a gender-neutral policy standard for assignments. However, there appears to be a misalignment of national security policy as it relates to gender fairness that impacts Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) participants in particular. This paper is primarily a presentation of two recently excavated rooms in the 6th c. Episcopal Basili-ca at the site of Golemo Gradište, village of Konjuh. The location and furnishings of the spaces raise the possibility that they were used for the deposition of offerings, such as bread and wine for the Eucharist, by members of the congregation as they entered the church. Gifts of bread and wine immediately move the discussion into issues of liturgy. Death was a part of life, perhaps a frequent and highly visible aspect of daily life in a Late Antique town such as the anonymous city at Golemo Gradiste, village of Konjuh. The residents went about their daily activities of farming, crafts, food preparation, textile production, mining, and metallurgy The several skeletons found within the city, i.e., two children probably killed by falling debris and several cist burials on the northern terrace, indicate that death was frequent and familiar: for the residents of the city the threat of violent and unexpected death was always present.

Fewer women occupy executive-level positions in U.S. companies compared to the number of men. Antidiscrimination laws have been in place for 30 years to combat the threat to gender equality. The purpose of this descriptive phenomenological study was to examine the lived experiences of executive-level women employed in the manufacturing and service-based industries to explore the persistence of the glass ceiling. Social learning theory provided the framework for the study. Data were collected from semi-structured interviews with 12 executive-level women in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. This study looks at female character roles in six of the major fantasy films produced during the 1980s. This research draws mostly on primary resources, the films, but includes commentary from research in the same vein. The purpose of this study was to show how certain fantasy films gave more agency and power to female characters in a genre often plagued with women who needed saving. Organizational-public relations discourse is changing given the advent of social media, and corporate statements are evaluated under different criteria in the digital age. Grounding Budweiser’s response to controversy over their 2017 Super Bowl advertisement in terms of consumer expectations for corporate social responsibility provides a new perspective for approaching Bostdorff and Vibbert’s (1994) conceptualization of values advocacy. This study recognizes the power of the rhetorical stakeholder, a discursively created public, and demands re-evaluation of the values common to society from a co-creational OPR perspective. The growing population of people with dementia worldwide calls attention to the burdens associated with age-related decline that affects physiology, psychological and cognitive status, and social/emotional wellbeing. The current standards in geriatric care recommend non-pharmacological approaches to these challenges, including safe approaches to managing pain and stress, enhancing symptom relief, and fostering independent lifestyles with the highest quality of life possible. The purpose of this article is to provide definitions of music-based interventions, music therapy applications and clinician qualifications, as well as an umbrella mini-review of meta-analyses regarding music-based interventions for individuals with dementia. Lycophron’S Alexandra: “Restaging” The East-West Conflict, Akira V. Yatsuhashi

This paper argues that Lycrophon’s Alexandra overwrites the model of Herodotus to condense the conflict between East and West and advocate for uniformly “Greek” cultural identity. As the idea of what it meant to be Greek or barbarian began to transform with the events of the early Hellenistic period, concurrent literary works like those of Lycrophon responded to cultural anxieties by redefining Hellenicity to unite displaced Greek-speaking peoples. Herodotus and Lycrophon both claim epistemological authority of their narratives, but unlike Herodotus, Lycrophon explores the individual motivations of historical actors and incorporates both poetic and prose traditions into his narrative. This project is an in-depth study of Cristóbal de Villalpando’s cycle of paintings depicting the life of Saint Francis of Assisi, commissioned in 1691 for the Franciscan Convent in Antigua, Guatemala. This seminal group has not been the subject of a focused study since 1986 and the sources of its unique iconography, as well as its impact on later depictions of this saint’s life in New Spain, have never been fully explored. In a larger context, examining the scenes illustrated in Villalpando’s series, which were likely selected under the guidance of his Franciscan patrons, tells us something about the Franciscans …

念念是戲曲節的工作人員，她熱愛崑曲，尤其鍾愛《牡丹亭》。她心中有情，但所遇到的都是無緣人。直到今年戲曲節，她遇上來自蘇州某崑劇團的「柳夢梅」……

台上的柳夢梅身姿翩然、氣宇軒昂，含情脈脈的眼神、撩動人心的歌喉、義無反顧的愛戀，無不使人動心，是值得託付之人；台下的「柳夢梅」毫無架子，與念念談笑風生，和藹可親。念念從來沒想過自己能與崑劇演員有這麼多的交集，她心中有個「牡丹夢」：她想做一回杜麗娘，與柳夢梅真真切切地愛一場，此生不渝。面對眼前這位「柳夢梅」，她無法自拔地陷入夢中之情，然而「夢醒」以後，又是否真如《牡丹亭》中的杜麗娘和柳夢梅一樣，走出夢境後能再續情緣？"
