This study aimed to identify the social responsibility (SR) and its relationship with some environmental variables in a sample of students from the University of Jordan where the study sample consisted of (420) male and female Departments of Social Work and the Economy at the University of Jordan. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher developed a measure of social responsibility. This study aimed to examine self-esteem among orphan students in Jerusalem’s suburbian schools and identify the correlations between this situation and some variables such as gender, age, and academic achievement (in terms of grades). The study’s population consisted of a sample of (73) orphans, using a questionnaire of (37) items covering various aspects of the study. The results of the study showed no differences in the concept of self-esteem among orphan students attributed to the gender variable, except for the orphans’ perception of the future, and in favor of males. There is an evident lack of information in the sources on this issue, scarcity of modern scholarship on the subject and inconsistency of the reports written in the primary sources. This paper approaches Orwell’s writing from the perspective of the 21st century and asks whether Animal Farm, his satirical fable of the USSR, and the dystopian vision of Nineteen Eighty-Four remain relevant. It dismisses the suggestion that these last two novels can be regarded as the natural culmination of Orwell’s earlier work, principally by examining these other writings demonstrates that there is no natural trajectory. The paper also refers to key dates in Orwell’s life and comments on his career at those particular moments. This paper investigates the status of Grice’s (1975) conversational maxims of cooperation in Jordanian socio-political newspapers interviews. It also discusses the fundamental norms and conventions that shape conduct in these kinds of interviews and recurrent practices through which journalists balance competing professional demands for both objective and an adversarial treatment of public figures in the present case two former Jordanian Prime Ministers (PMs). The paper also explores how, in the face of aggressive questioning, the PMs struggle to stay “on message”, so to speak, and pursue their own agenda. Evidence of castor plant R. communis, L. is recovered from the Early Holocene archaeological site of Kabbashi Haitah in the Central Sudan and dated to c. 7700 - 7200 bp. This evidence represents the earliest botanical evidence recovered –so far- from the Central Sudan and elsewhere in Eastern Tropical Africa and the World. No evidence is found in the material culture remains which might indicate the likelihood of its being imported. The region of Dhofar in southern Oman is rich in rock art scenes that widely portray the camel. This paper examines these rock art scenes and looks into their cultural signification. It examines the camel scenes to highlight this animal’s characteristics and its role in the economy, trade and transport. Furthermore, the paper draws from an ongoing ethnoarchaeological study to establish certain analogies in order to explain the significance of these scenes and their denotation. The study regards the scenes as a representation of a wide spread rock art camel culture that parallels traditional camel culture in Dhofar.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate factors that influence the career decision-making of tenth graders in the South-Batina governorate and the extent of influence of each, in addition to the effect of gender, level of achievement, field of specialty, and parents educational level variables on those factors. A quantitative method approach was used for data collection. A questionnaire of career decision-making factors was applied to a random cluster sample of (350) tenth grade students (52.3% male, and 47.7% female). This study aimed to utilize spectral indices in investigating the current drought of Taiff district in the 26 years (1984-2010). The study relies on processing and analysing of satellite data through several professional computer programs including ER Mapper, ERDAS and ArcGIS, where several spectral indices were used to evaluate the extent of the drought. Egyptian Revolution And Its Impact On Work Values Among A Sample Of Teachers In Assiut Governorate, Ahmed Kamal Abd Elwahab Elbahnasawy

This study aims to identify the difference on work values and its constituent dimensions according to some variables: study sample (first sample immediately after the revolution, second sample 3 years after the revolution), gender (male and female), urban vs. rural, and interactions between these variables among a sample of teachers in Assuit. Sample of the study (N= 1121) includes male and female teachers (first sample N= 641, second sample N=480). Results show significant differences between the two samples in management, setting, supervision relations, life styles, safety, autonomy, multiplicity, economic return and general work values on behalf of the first sample. …
