The Deification Of Man In Early Christianity, William Laduke, Dr. James L. Siebach
The Deification Of Man In Early Christianity, William Laduke, Dr. James L. Siebach
Journal of Undergraduate Research
Although I have not yet researched the subject as thoroughly as I had planned, I have discovered some interesting things about the deification of man in early Christianity. I began by searching the secondary literature and found that there was much more written on the subject than I had expected. The idea of deification was commonplace; for many, it was synonymous with salvation.

Un Conjunto De Únicos(1): An Essay Exploring Relationships Between Individuality And Community In The Context Of Language, Todd Leishman, Dr. Brandie Siegried
Journal of Undergraduate Research
In literature and science, in art and religion, two ideas emerge that shape the people and the peoples that we are. Education in all these things brings with it a blossoming awareness of our uniqueness as individuals. No two are the same, genetically or psychologically, in personality, spirit, or experience. Revelation teaches us we are each of infinite worth as individuals.
Summary Of Creative Development Of “Fields Of Light” Screenplay, T. Ryan Little, Sharon Swenson
Summary Of Creative Development Of “Fields Of Light” Screenplay, T. Ryan Little, Sharon Swenson
Journal of Undergraduate Research
The objective of this project was to write a screenplay for a film that would share gospel insights without being didactic in its presentation. Did I succeed? I believe I’m on the right track. I felt that a good place to start would be to view films made by LDS film makers such as Keith Merrill, Blair Treu, Matt Whitaker, Russ Holt and Stan Ferguson. Some of these wonderful films are The Lamb of God, Mountain of the Lord, Nora’s Christmas, Easter Dream and Legacy. These are great films that have touched the lives of members of the church as …

Popular Culture And Philosophy: Rules Of Engagement, John E. Huss
Popular Culture And Philosophy: Rules Of Engagement, John E. Huss
Philosophy Faculty Research
The exploration of popular culture topics by academic philosophers for non-academic audiences has given rise to a distinctive genre of philosophical writing. Edited volumes with titles such as Black Sabbath and Philosophy or Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Philosophy contain chapters by multiple philosophical authors that attempt to bring philosophy to popular audiences. Two dominant models have emerged in the genre. On the pedagogical model, authors use popular culture examples to teach the reader philosophy. The end is to promote philosophical literacy, defined as acquaintance with the key problems, ideas, and figures in the history of philosophy. In contrast, on …

Super Bowl, Richard C. Crepeau
Super Bowl, Richard C. Crepeau
On Sport and Society
Here we are once again at the most important weekend in American sport. The Super Bowl is Sunday and that means that Americans across the land will create scenes reminiscent of Thorstein Veblen’s classic, The Theory of the Leisure Class. Veblen’s original vocabulary describing the rich of the late 19th century is as appropriate now as it was then. Such phrases as “conspicuous consumption,” “conspicuous waste” and “conspicuous leisure,” seem to have been coined for the Super Bowl.

Using Latent Semantic Analysis To Detect Non-Cognitive Variables Of Academic Performance, Daniel Richard Aalderks
Using Latent Semantic Analysis To Detect Non-Cognitive Variables Of Academic Performance, Daniel Richard Aalderks
Theses
This thesis explores the possibilities of using latent semantic analysis to detect evidence of intrapersonal personality variables in post-secondary student essays. Determining student achievement based on non-cognitive variables is a complex process. Automated essay scoring tools are already in use today in grading and evaluating student texts based on cognitive domain traits, but at this time are not utilized to analyze non-cognitive domains such as personality. Could such tools be configured to detect non-cognitive variables in student essays? Key concepts in this proposal—personality traits, latent semantic analysis, automated essay evaluation, and online cinema reviews—are explored followed by a literature review …

Jesus Our Worship Leader, Ron Man
Jesus Our Worship Leader, Ron Man
Symposium on Worship Archive
God has lavished upon us his grace for salvation, and also for living the Christian life; a wonderful liberating truth for worship leaders is to recognize God's grace for our worship: that God accepts and delights in our worship, not because but because of how well we pull it off, but because it is empowered, perfected and led by the living Lord Jesus in our midst.
