Dueling With Spt Questions: Members Of The College Of Fight Masters Share Their Ideas For Skills Proficiency Tests, T. Fulton Burns
Theatre Faculty Research
As the rehearsal process grows closer and closer to the Skills Proficiency Test (SPT) common questions arise regarding what is needed in order to pass. When you consider the fact that Shakespeare’s writing of this play and the American Revolution are only separated by around 175 years, it is not hard to …

Relational Maintenance Strategies On Facebook, Erin M. Bryant, Jennifer Marmo
Human Communication and Theatre Faculty Research
This study explored how college students utilize the social networking site Facebook to maintain relationships. Focus group data was analyzed to develop a list of 58 Facebook relational maintenance strategies. Canary, Stafford, Hause, and Wallace’s (1993) relational maintenance typology was used to organize Facebook relational maintenance strategies. A new category was created to represent a popular relational maintenance strategy on Facebook: surveillance. This study also examined how maintenance strategies vary in different Facebook relationships; close friends, casual friends, acquaintances, romantic partners, and outsiders (e.g. parents, bosses, teachers). Participants suggested Facebook is an adequate stand-alone tool to maintain casual or acquaintance …

Based on the true story of Helen Keller - blind, deaf, and mute since infancy - and her teacher Annie Sullivan - the "half-blind Yankee schoolgirl" - this unforgettable play has inspired and moved audiences since its first performance. "When we do the best we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life or in the life of another." — Helen Keller
