บทบาทของ "หมา" ในตำนานและพิธีกรรมของชาติพันธุ์ต่าง ๆ ในอุษาคเนย์, ปฐม หงษ์สุวรรณ

บทความวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทของตัวละครหมาที่ปรากฏในตำนานและพิธีกรรมของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ต่างๆ ในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ จาก การศึกษาพบว่าหมามีบทบาทเชิงสัญลักษณ์ที่สําคัญ 4 ประการ คือ เป็นบรรพบุรุษ ของมนุษย์ เป็นผู้นําทางวัฒนธรรม เป็นตัวแทนของการสืบเผ่าพันธุ์และความ อุดมสมบูรณ์ และเป็นสื่อกลางเชื่อมโย ระหว่างโลกมนุษย์กับโลกศักดิ์สิทธิ์ บทความนี้ ได้วิเคราะห์ให้เห็นบทบาทและความสําคัญของหมาในฐานะเป็นสิ่งที่เชื่อมโยงกับ การเป็นตัวแทนของกลุ่มชนและเป็นสัญลักษณ์ทางศาสนา อันมีความหมายเชิง วัฒนธรรมที่สะท้อนระบบคิดของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ต่างๆ ในดินแดนแถบนี้

บทความวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาตำนานประจำถิ่นริมแม่น้ำและชายฝั่ง ทะเลภาคกลางของไทยในปริบททางภูมิศาสตร์ ประวัติศาสตร์ สังคม และวัฒนธรรม ผลการศึกษาพบว่าตำนานประจำถิ่นริมแม่น้ำและชายฝั่งทะเลภาคกลางของไทยมี เนื้อหาที่สัมพันธ์กับสภาพความเป็นจริงทางภูมิศาสตร์ ประวัติศาสตร์ สังคม และ วัฒนธรรมของกลุ่มชนท้องถิ่น ในขณะเดียวกันตำนานประจำถิ่นยังเป็นเรื่อง จินตนาการที่กลุ่มชนท้องถิ่นสร้างขึ้นเพื่อใช้อธิบายทั้งความเป็นมาของสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ และทั้งความเป็นมาของท้องถิ่น ตามความคิดและความเข้าใจของตน ทำให้ตำนาน ประจำถิ่นกลายเป็นประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่นในความรับรู้ของชาวบ้าน และส่งผลต่อจิตสำนึกร่วมในเรื่องความเป็นท้องถิ่น

ตำนานพระศรีอาริย์สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความเชื่อของคนไทยที่มีมาแต่ บรรพกาล ซึ่งกล่าวถึงยุคสมัยอันเป็นอุดมคติ และเชื่อกันว่าจะเกิดขึ้นจริงในหลัง พ.ศ. 5000 เนื้อหาในตํานานต่างๆ กล่าวถึงสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวก ความสุขสบาย ต่างๆ ที่เกิดขึ้นในยุคสมัยของพระศรีอาริย์ สิ่งเหล่านี้เป็น "จินตนาการ" ที่สร้างขึ้น ท่ามกลางปัญหาและความไม่พอใจต่อสภาพปัจจุบันในโลกแห่งความจริง โลก อุดมคติในสมัยพระศรีอาริย์จึงมีบทบาทอย่างสำคัญในการตอบสนองความต้องการ อันเป็นอุดมคติแก่มนุษย์ ให้มนุษย์ผ่อนคลายและปราศจากความกังวลและความ หวาดกลัว ซึ่งมีอยู่ในทุกยุคทุกสมัย อย่างไรก็ตาม นอกจากตำนานจะตอบสนอง ความต้องการอันเป็นอุดมคติแล้ว อุดมคติจากยุคสมัยดังกล่าวยังเป็นเสมือนการ กำหนดเป้าหมายของสังคม ที่จะให้คนในสังคมและคนรุ่นต่อมาได้ยึดถือและเดินไป ตามทิศทางที่บรรพชนกำหนด

บทความนี้เสนอการวิเคราะห์กระบวนความคิดเชิงภาษาศาสตร์ของคำว่า "ฝัน" เนื่องจาก "ฝัน" เป็นสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นกับมนุษย์และเกิดในเวลาที่เราหลับโดยที่เรา ไม่รู้สึกตัวและไม่มีสติสัมปชัญญะ หรือหากเป็น "ฝันกลางวันแสดงความปรารถนา" ก็ยังไม่เกิดขึ้นจริงในโลกปัจจุบันและเป็นเพียงจินตนาการเท่านั้น ดังนั้นเพื่อศึกษาว่า เรามีกระบวนความคิดเกี่ยวกับ "ฝัน" อย่างไร ผู้วิจัยจึงเลือกวิเคราะห์คําว่า "ฝัน" ตามทฤษฎีภาษาศาสตร์แนวปริชาน (cognitive linguistics) 2 ทฤษฎี คือทฤษฎี ภาพความคิดของแลงแอคเคอร์ (Langacker 1991) และทฤษฎีอุปลักษณ์ของเลคอฟ และจอห์นสัน (Lakoff and Johnson 1980) จากข้อมูลตัวอย่างคําว่า "ฝัน" จาก วรรณกรรมตะวันตก 3 เรื่องคือ เรื่อง วันอังคารกับครูมอร์รี่ แต่งโดย มิทช์ อัลบอม (Albom 1997) เรื่อง บุคคลทั้งห้าที่เราพบบนสวรรค์ แต่งโดย มิทช์ อัลบอม (Albom 2003) และวรรณกรรมชุด แฮรี่ พอตเตอร์ แต่งโดย เจ.เค.โรว์ลิง (Rowling 1998-2005) ผลการวิเคราะห์คำว่า "ฝัน" ที่ปรากฏในวรรณกรรมตะวันตก ผู้วิจัยพบว่า ชาวตะวันตกมีกรอบความคิดเกี่ยวกับคำว่า "ฝัน" ในลักษณะเป็นคำกริยามากกว่า คำนาม แต่เมื่อเป็นคำนามจะเน้นที่ความแตกต่างในการนับได้ พจน์ และสภาพ สิ้นสุดหรือไม่ โดยใช้ความหมายต่างๆ ของคําว่า "ฝัน" เป็นปัจจัยหลักในการแยก ความแตกต่าง แต่ในภาษาไทยจะเน้นความแตกต่างของคํานามในด้านกริยาหรือ นามธรรม คือ การฝัน และ ความฝัน ส่วนในทฤษฎีอุปลักษณ์นั้น ตัวอย่างจาก วรรณกรรมตะวันตกสะท้อนทัศนคติและความเชื่อของชาวตะวันตกเกี่ยวกับความฝัน ในด้านความหมายที่เป็นสากลลักษณ์ที่ปรากฏเป็นอุปลักษณ์คือ ความฝันคือ จินตนาการ ความฝันคือความปรารถนา และ การฝันคือการคาดหวัง

「何壽基學校英語動力營」旨在透過創造一個輕鬆有趣的環境讓學生活學活用大部份已在平日課堂上學到的英語，其主要目標爲：

1. 透過各種富趣味性的英語活動，培養學生的自信心及主動學習性，從而推動學生多聽及多說英語。
2. 透過團體活動，讓學生發揮團結精神及促進個人成長，並借助團隊精神改變個人行爲。
3. 透過比賽形式，激發學生的奮鬥心，同時學習「勝不驢、敗不餒」的道理，並透過建立互相扶助及鼓勵的小組文化，讓小組內較弱的組員能跟上進度。
4. 透過讓學生安排自己的起居飲食，訓練獨立性及自律性。
5. 創造一個給長者與學生互動的平台，促進長幼共融。

爲評估「何壽基學校英語動力營」的成效，本屮心推行了一項調查硏究，探討參與此計訓的學生在以下數方面的轉變：英語能力、知識的增進、個人的發展和團體合作。此外，亦包括了學生對這個「動力營」的評價與意見。

This dissertation examines how the constantly evolving gender identity o f a text’s transgender subject relates to the text’s narrative structure and shapes the orientation o f the reader to the text. Accordingly, this project examines how these transgender narratives deploy experimental stylistic techniques that enhance the reader’s experience of ceaseless transitioning by revealing gender as a constant process that never solidifies onto a body and by highlighting the text’s own status as process rather than finalized product. It is well known to the students of Iranian history that the great powers of Britain and Russia played important roles in shaping events and their course during the period of the Constitutional Movement (1905-11). And nowhere was Russia's involvement greater than in the northwestern province of Azerbaijan, the closest Iranian to Russian territory in the Caucasus. Beginning in 1907, the extent of her involvement in the province increased, although it continued to be restricted to material support for the royalists in their struggles with the province's constitutionalists. The exploration of timbre became increasingly significant throughout the 20th century, with some composers making it the essence of their music. This artistic development occurred in conjunction with a technological advancement that together would contribute to the birth of what is now called `spectral music' . Using computers, composers have been able to discover the spectra of frequencies that exist at different strengths for various sounds. The baseball season thus far has been a strange one, although perhaps no stranger than most. Normal is not a word that is often associated with baseball, or for that matter with most sports. Before the season started, the specter of steroids stalked spring training. Barry Bonds was written about almost as much as T.O. had been written about before the NFL season started last fall. Sports writers, sportscasters, and the fanatics on talk radio couldn't match the T.O. hysteria, but they gave it a good try.

Genre Exploration: Alternatives To Expository Writing In Seventh Grade Life Science, Christen Haigh

The purpose of this thesis is to explore the use of genre writing as an alternative to commonly used expository writing in the seventh grade life science classroom. My research includes student surveys and educator interviews. I surveyed 44 seventh grade science students using a Likert scale. The participating students include 1 eleven-year-old boy, 10 twelve-year-old boys, 10 thirteen-year-old boys, 1 fourteen-year-old boy, 11 twelve-year-old girls, and 11 thirteen-year-old girls. I interviewed 3 middle school science teachers who teach at public schools in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The international community has seen a dramatic increase in the complexity of aid operations, with increasing numbers of donors participating in humanitarian aid endeavors. Therefore, it is essential to determine factors that contribute to successful aid delivery. In an effort to guide more effective and efficient aid operations, this study investigated organizational culture in three distinct types of humanitarian organizations: (a) the U.S. military, (b) the International Federation of the Red Cross, and (c) a sampling of local and indigenous non-governmental organizations. A Short Tutorial On Reconstructability Analysis, Martin Zwick

This talk will present the basic ideas of Reconstructability Analysis. RA is a general modeling methodology developed in the systems community since the early 60s (pioneered by Ross Ashby) for exploratory (data mining, machine learning) and confirmatory modeling. RA is based in graph theory, set theory, information theory, and statistics. It is applicable to qualitative (nominal) and, via binning, to quantitative (continuous) data, with both statistical & non-statistical applications. It overlaps and augments more widely known methods, e.g., log-linear modeling and Bayesian networks.

The question of how Heloise, the renowned twelfth-century abbess of the Benedictine women’s monastery called the Paraclete, obtained a classical education in the twelfth century French culture is important and not adequately answered at present. The purpose of this paper is to discover a reasonable understanding of how she acquired her high quality education and what conditions made it possible for her to learn three languages, be highly literate, and successful in her role as a religious abbess. The purpose of this study was to establish a functional analysis protocol for examining behavioral deficits, using social withdrawal as an exemplar. A review of the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis over the past 10 years found that although the current behavior analytic literature contains extensive studies that functionally analyze behavioral excesses, there is a limited amount of studies that analyze deficits. After graduating from FCRH honors in 1957 with a degree in psychology, he attained his doctorate in the psychology of human learning from Clark University. The Latter-day Saint belief that Jehovah and Jesus are the same person presents a supposed conflict. Elizabeth Tudor, Queen of England, weaves the courtier's strategy of sprezzatura throughout her public orations in order to help her identify with her audience of courtiers, scholars, and politicians. Through her use of sprezzatura, Elizabeth woos her audience and transcends the differences of opinion that lead to conflict between the Queen and her audience members.
