On August 9, a grass fire burned one hundred acres of land north of the Little Bighorn Battlefield before being contained. Overnight, the wind kicked up smoldering embers east of the Calhoun Hill area of the battlefield, and the fire spread quickly. Park rangers and employees saved the visitor center and National Cemetery, but the rest of the battlefield was scorched. Pruning Mr. Wilson's Hedges: The Link Between Woodrow Wilson And George W. Bush, Joseph P. Richards

This paper seeks to show that a connection exists between President George W. Bush's rhetoric sending America into war with Iraq and the rhetoric used by President Woodrow Wilson which led to America's entrance into World War I. The paper is broken into two major sections: the first is an analysis of Woodrow Wilson's 1917 address to Congress seeking a declaration of war against Germany. The remainder of the paper is dedicated to beginning the establishment of a link between Wilson's rhetoric during World War I and President Bush's rhetoric which drew America into war with Iraq.

The science of graphology ( the study and analysis of handwriting) has traditionally been applied to delineate personality traits. Some of the results have been invalidated, although we believe the field can be expanded into broader categories. Specifically, this study analyzes the handwriting of "artistic" and "non-artistic" subjects. Our working hypothesis (with results still being compiled) is that our "artistic" informants will display a less formal type of handwriting compared to our "non-artistic" informants.

Ben Jonson was by no means a minor character of the early seventeenth century. His writings ranged from plays like Sejanus and Every Man in His Humor to poems like "Song: To Celia" and "To the Memory of My Beloved", "The Author", "Mr. William Shakespeare", and "What He Hath Left Us." He was bold in his attempts. As a result, while many of his works are extremely popular, there are several that proved to be not so successful. Since 1885, when the United States' government became the first to officially recognize King Leopold's claim to the Congo, the United States has continuously undermined the democratic attempts and economic prosperity of the Congolese population. Throughout the DRC's political history the United States has successfully used covert operations under the guise of the United Nations, clandestine CIA maneuvers, and/or the pretense of humanitarian relief to control American interests in the Great Lakes Region. Although other western nations have used their own means to advance their interests in the Congo, this paper will focus on the US' role in the Congo. …

Fatos Tarifa’s Culture, Ideology and Society was my companion on a recent trip to the Balkans. Having read and reviewed one of his other books, The Quest for Legitimacy and the Withering Away of Utopia, I thought Culture, Ideology and Society would not only offer a glimpse of how a social scientist turned enlightened diplomat examines the lenses through which sociologists, philosophers, and film makers look at the world, but also some insight into the categories and concepts that are useful in better understanding the Balkans. I believe the book was somewhat successful at doing both.

Old Babylonian Account Texts In The Horn Archaeological Museum, Marcel Sigrist

Biblical Archaeology

Sigrist completes his publication of cuneiform tablets in the Horn Archaeological Museum collection with this corpus of 276 Old Babylonian tablets.This volume contains an index listing personal names, names of deities, and geographical names with a catalogue (register and description) of the individual tablets as well as a classification of the texts ordered according to reigning king. Indexes of Akkadian words (by transliteration and by sign) are provided. Included are tablet identification information, line-drawn illustrations, transliteration of all writing, and translation of most of the text.
