Through the use of Noel- Levitz principles institutions can identify and utilize existing programs at their institutions for student success. Racism is an incubus that has haunted every culture in the United States since its inception. Today, aspects of the hip-hop genre embody that spirit by promoting self-hate through exploitation, misogyny, greed, and denigration of who Blacks are as a people. The hip-hop culture and its style of music has crossed all racial and culture barriers and has been deemed the music of the 21st century. Yet the hip-hop culture often cloaks itself with monolithic images very powerfully in television, magazines, and music videos.

The International Partnership for Service-Learning along with South Dakota State University engages North and South Dakota Native American Communities with service learning. College students from the United States as well as foreign countries participate in 2-13 week sessions in service learning. Students have a two week orientation session on Native American Culture. Students meet with SDSU Faculty as well as Native American Cultural Presenters. Orientation concludes with a one week academic field trip visiting historical sites and SD Reservations. Faced with a dramatic shift in population demographics and a 1000% increase in the number of English Language Learner elementary school children, four colleges and universities and seven public school districts have joined forces to increase the number minority, bilingual, and ESL endorsed teachers in northeast Nebraska. Crossing boundaries that lead to difficult dialogue touches upon the core of my academic existence. I teach about Africa and the world of Africans on a small predominately white campus outside of a major metro area. The topics that are introduced in my classes cross over many academic areas. With Africa as the starting point of all discussions, students gradually develop an "Afrocentric" perspective per the discussions of Asante. Not because it is the focus of the class, but because Africa is the origin of civilization according to Diop and others.

Current ACS guidelines recommend routine screening for cancer (ACS, 2002). Motivation to adhere to guidelines may be different for individuals with and without a family history of melanoma (Jonna, et al., 1998). Prior research examining the relationship between family history and skin cancer detection behaviors (Berwick et al., 1996; Friedman et al., 1993; Oliveria et al., 1999) have failed to utilize a theoretical framework to derive hypotheses. Modeling methods are required for predicting the chemical stability of macromolecular materials used in critical spacecraft components of satellites orbiting in the high-energy radiation environment of near earth and deep space planetary magnetic belts. Methods for establishing degradation mechanisms and predicting and simulating the total absorbed dose and ionization for long term space missions are presented herein. This investigation evaluates cross-linking, main-chain scission and elimination products in a linear series of narrowly dispersed poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and polystyrene (PS) polymers.
