Sibling Death In Childhood: An Evaluation Of The Literature Regarding Inclusion Of Minority Cultures, 1990–2002, Joyce Kay L. Cherry

This evaluation seeks to determine the extent to which the professional literature concerning bereaved children in the United States includes African American, Hispanic American, and Asian American children whose siblings have died in childhood.

A literature search identifies 58 articles, published between 1990 and 2002, concerning children under age 19 living in the United States whose siblings have died. Articles are sorted by time frame and classified by type. There are 31 descriptive articles consisting of five literature reviews, five commentaries, five case studies, and 16 narratives; there are 27 research articles. This collection of seven short stories explores the experience and expression of love. Love as myth is thematic to some of the stories, as is love as misery. The characters in the stories lose love or misuse it, or they confuse it with other human impulses. The stories dance around the cliche of love and examine it from the perspective of the individual, family, community, and church. Love is the conflict as well as the resolution, and the characters evolve as their understanding of love becomes more or less clear.

The Political Personality Of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, Aubrey Immelman, Adam Beatty

This paper presents the results of an indirect assessment of the personality of Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe, from the conceptual perspective of Theodore Millon.

Psychodiagnostically relevant information regarding President Mugabe was extracted from biographical sources and media reports and synthesized into a personality profile using the second edition of the Millon Inventory of Diagnostic Criteria (MIDC), which yields 34 normal and maladaptive personality classifications congruent with Axis II of DSM–IV.

The personality profile yielded by the MIDC was analyzed on the basis of interpretive guidelines provided in the MIDC and Millon Index of Personality Styles manuals.

This work examined the design and characterization of multilayer coplanar waveguide baluns and inductors. This work derives a design procedure that helps RF engineers design cost effective multilayer coplanar waveguide (CPW) spiral balun that works in the frequency range 1-8 GHz. The accuracy of the developed procedure has been proven by designing two balun circuits of different dimensions and simulating them using available commercial software, Momentum (MoM) and Empire (FDTD). The simulation results have shown good balun performance over the desired frequency range. IAA Reports—Monograph Series of the Israel Antiquities Authority

Some 1400 sq m were exposed in the IAA excavations of the protohistoric site of Qiryat Ata. The study of the paleogeography reveals this location was an optimal area for exploitation of natural resources, including alluvial valleys, coastal habitats and forests, with stable water sources and extensive available farmland. The site yielded a wealth of stratified, well-dated architecture in a chronological sequence within the Early Bronze Age, illustrating the development from EB IB curvilinear structures, to late EB IB rectilinear forms with rounded corners, and finally EB II angular-cornered rectilinear buildings in a large, dense, urbanized town. "How, Kemosabe," Rowland Rider would say, raising his right arm. Unlike a schoolboy raising his hand to ask a question, Rowland would lift his arm up from the elbow. This gesture was Rowland's trademark of sorts, a declaration to the world of his knowledge of Indian ways. (Rowland said "Indian." The politically correct term Native American had not yet been advanced.) That the impact of terrorism is equal to the reaction it elicits may be a truism, but one that deserves further probing as demonstrated by the way that reaction is put to use politically. Whichever of 150-strong definitions [1] is accepted, the consequential aspect of terrorism is ideational: the assault targets the concept and experience of normal in the lives and minds of ordinary people.
