Performing Arts Manuscript Collections: Balancing Access And Privacy, Linda B. Fairtile

University Libraries Faculty and Staff Publications

This essay examines some of the issues involved in administering performing arts manuscript collections. After briefly discussing the evolving notion of privacy in both its legal and moral senses, it will turn to the relationships and interlocking responsibilities of the four groups concerned with access to manuscript collections: donors, custodians, users, and "third-party" contributors. Finally, the results of a survey of performing arts repositories will reveal the variety of ways in which these responsibilities are addressed. Theses

William Shakespeare wrote plays for the masses -- the aristocrats as well as the common people. While his dramas, tragedies, and comedies were controversial, sometimes bawdy, and always physical, in the twentieth century, secondary school educators have come to think of Shakespeare's plays as literature for academic study. Middle schools rarely cover any Shakespearean plays in the classroom. Students traditionally start to study Shakespearean scripts in high school. In high school, freshman usually read Romeo and Juliet; sophomores read Julius Caesar, Macbeth, or Hamlet. Most secondary curriculums do not include a Shakespearean comedy.

The discipline of mathematics has not been spared the sweeping critique of postmodernism. Is mathematical theory true for all time, or are mathematical constructs in fact fallible? This fascinating book examines the tensions that have arisen between modern and postmodern views of mathematics, explores alternative theories of mathematical truth, explains why the issues are important, and shows how a Christian perspective makes a difference.

This chapter continues the process of tracing Western mathematization.

This collection consists of forty-four letters received by Dr. (then Sgt.) Kemp Mabry from Thérèse Roué Chauvin, a French child whom he began correspondence with beginning in 1945, until Chauvin’s death in 1993. Additionally, this collection contains one letter from Thérèse Roué Chauvin to Gilbert and Olympia Shahbaz, and two letters from Shahbaz to Kemp Mabry. The collection also contains a bound volume of reproductions and translations of the material, containing the entirety of the collection.

The collection consists of fifty-seven letters from French residents of Vannes to Dr. (then Sgt.) Kemp Mabry, spanning 1945-53. Letters from members of the L'Honnen and Le Bourgne families, and especially from Suzanne Le Gleuher (later Saporita). User copies of the letters of “Les Vannetais” in two bound volumes are also included

Od parafiranja Daytonskog mirovnog sporazuma 21. novembra 1995. Bosna i Hercegovina je "zamašan eksperiment” u demokratizaciji, opsežan skup aktivnosti na izgradnji mira koje se protežu od onih upravljenih odozgo prema dole kroz međunarodno reguliranje izbora, ekonomski menadžment i razvoj institucija do onih upravljenih odozdo prema gore kroz razvoj političke kulture izgradnjom civilnog društva. Štaviše, o ovom širokom međunarodnom uplitanju u bosanske državne poslove se nije moglo pregovarati. Počev od kraja 1997., međunarodni mandat je proširen. Na primjer, Visokom predstavniku je data ovlast u poduzimanju akcija protiv obstrukcionizma izabranih zvaničnika na državnom i entitetskom nivou.
