Around his eightieth birthday, the Swiss-American engineer, Othmar Ammann moved to an apartment at the top of the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan. One imagines that he, gazing down on the city below, could have only marveled at how much its landscape had changed since his arrival there fiftyodd years earlier. He also could have delighted in his own accomplishments, the vistas from his new home offering visual confirmation of his professional successes. Enriching Families In The Parish Through The Use Of Musical Drama, Wallace Becker

Healthy families are important for the health of the congregation. Many churches see the need to focus energy on strengthening families.

Musical drama based on the life of Jesus has its roots in the liturgy. The musical dramas presented at Zion Lutheran, Litchfield, Illinois, involved families and provided opportunities for their enrichment.

By developing and implementing a plan for musical drama to enrich families at Redeemer Lutheran, Springfield, Missouri, the author sought to strengthen these families, providing opportunities to build positive assets or building blocks into their lives. Participants who filled out surveys confirmed growth in positive assets.

Constitutional law has been an active battlefield as competing groups within the academy seek to deconstruct, reconstruct, and/or relegitimize the teaching and practice of law in the United States. Much of the rhetoric of the debate is couched in the language of rights. There is a danger that diminished attention to powers in the rhetoric and teaching of constitutional law may compromise sober and moderate constitutional reasoning. By reinvigorating reflection on powers-related issues, the legal profession can do its part to promote sobriety, and hence an added dose of prudence, in constitutional reflection and discourse by a democratic citizenry whose …

The progenitor of the American Felder family was Hans Heinrich Felder who was born in Wiedikon, Canton Zurich, Switzerland, about 1701. He, his wife Ursula, and their ten-year old son Hans Heinrich, Jr., later John Henry, settled in Orangeburg Township, South Carolina in 1735. The family was granted 350 acres of land, that is more than half a square mile, on September 17, 1738 by King George II of England. Hans Heinrich Felder, Sr., however, died that same year, and his wife passed away a year later in 1739. Their son John Henry Felder was only 14 years old when …
