Relationships Among The Non-Byzantine Manuscripts Of 2 Peter, Terry Dwain Robertson

One of the ongoing discussions in NT text-critical studies involves the methodology for classifying manuscripts into families and text-types.' This study focuses on the text of 2 Peter, following a three-step method. First, all the manuscripts in the study were compared and tentatively grouped through hierarchical cluster analysis. Next, based on these tentative groupings, profiles of non-majority text readings were created. Then, working with and refining these profiles, the groupings were finalized. A short profile of test readings is also provided for each group to aid in the quick identification of other manuscripts. With the groupings in hand, the next …

The mixing of races has been a controversial issue ever since the first European settlers came to North America. This paper focuses on Native Americans and whites and examines how these two races are represented in early nineteenth century American literature. Specifically, it seeks to trace American authors' motivations and goals in their use of Indian-white miscegenation.

This thesis discusses novels, short stories, and plays by James Nelson Barker, Charlotte Barnes, Lydia Maria Child, James Fenimore Cooper, Catharine Maria Sedgwick, and Ann Sophia Stephens. All analyzed texts were published between 1808 and 1844 and were written by white authors for …

The one-to-one, face-to-face writing conference has long been hailed a godsend for struggling writers. The traditional IRL ("in real life") tutorial takes many shapes: (professor and student in office, tutor and student in library, tutor and student in writing center, etc.). When this writing conference moves into the MOO (Multi-User Domain, Object-Oriented), how does the environment affect student-tutor interaction? More specifically, what sorts of adjustments from the "normal" writing conference must be made in order for an effective conversation to occur in the synchronous OWL?

This edition presents twenty-one short plays by Ring W. Lardner (1885-1933), most of which have previously been accessible only on microfilm and in special collections. No edition exclusively dedicated to Lardner’s plays has ever been published. Though Lardner is known primarily for his short stories and sports writing, he considered himself to be a playwright and lyricist. Throughout his career he wrote several full-length plays (collaborating with George Cohan and George Kaufman, among others) and hundreds of short plays and sketches from which my collection is derived. "The Cowboy's Dirty Laundry" represents three years spent writing, workshopping, and revising literary short stories. Each explores themes common to people in conflict with themselves. They are stories of self-destruction, regret, loneliness, and adaptation.

The title story, "The Cowboy's Dirty Laundry," is a first-person narrative about a man struggling with a woman he loves but mistreats. "The Summer Sue Came Home" and "The Good Light in Charley's Garage" evolved from a workshop assignment to write about regret. Charley and Sue appear in both stories, the first told from Sue's point-of-view when they are young, the second told from Charley's point—of-view …

Western Psalm is a memoir that focuses on Utah and the people of that land. It is an attempt to tell the story of one Mormon in the hopes that that one story will capture the larger story of Mormonism itself.

Western Psalm is a book about identity and how identity is shaped by history. It explores Utahan and Mormon histories and the effects those histories have upon individual character. Western Psalm is about the conflict between finding an individual identity while at the same time honoring and being true to the identities that history demands we acknowledge.
