This happened because long term migration trends to the city and wartime casualties had made women the majority in the countryside. There was a need for them to exceed their previous contributions to agriculture, even as they struggled to cope with wartime losses.

There are several items to note in this potpourri of sports which has been delayed while I try to recover from the pain of watching the Atlanta Braves get turned every which way but loose by the New York Yankees. Realistically I did not think the Braves would beat the Yankees but I did expect to see a competitive six or seven game World Series.

Qualitative And Quantitative Of Land-Use Managers' Attitudes Towards Environmental Justice, David O. Padgett, Nikitah O. Imani
Black Studies Faculty Publications
On 11 February 1994, President Clinton signed Executive Order 12898 ‘‘Federal Actions to Address Environmental Justice in Minority Populations and Low-Income Populations.’’ Under the order, 17 federal agencies and offices are required to compile information about the race, national origin, and income of populations in close proximity to federal facilities that may have a significant effect upon ecosystem and human health.
