In the present treatise, it will be our purpose to examine Bushnell’s Moral Influence theory, and observe how the liberal and rationalistic tendencies are reflected in it. Special attention will be given to those teachings which contain error and are closely connected with the Moral Influence view, for example, his teaching on the Trinity, the person of Christ, imputed righteousness, faith, etc. It is our purpose, therefore to present a clear analysis of Bushnell’s theory including the reason for its development and the subsequent implications for modern theology.

It attempts to uncover in Blake's personal life the causes of his attitude toward sex, to visualize the effect this attitude had on his thought, and to point out the important place that sex occupies in Blake's completed cosmology.

The Portuguese usage of the preposition following verbs has been thoroughly studied by Francisco Fernandes in his Dictionàrio de verbos e regimes. However, the preposition required to supplement a noun or an adjective before a complementary infinitive has been virtually excluded from Portuguese dictionaries. It is the purpose of this thesis to present a study, together with examples, of this important phase of Portuguese syntax.

To obtain this information, thirty-one works of nineteen modern Portuguese and Brazilian authors were carefully examined, and the prepositional usage was recorded. The following general conclusions are based upon approximately 4,000 examples collected.

Shelley is generally regarded as a great lyricist, and indeed he was; yet even a superficial exploration of his works will show that he was greatly interested in, and concerned with, religious and philosophical subjects. Few critics, however, have even mentioned the poet as philosopher, much less attempted to understand his varying and, at times, baffling philosophical expressions. This study is an attempt to trace the evolution of Shelley's ideas concerning immortality and to conclude, if possible, his final stand on the subject.
