Two ledgers which document the financial transactions in the Oxford, Mississippi law firm James Stone and Sons between June 1939 and August 1954.  The attorney Phil Stone was a friend of the young William Faulkner, sharing an intense interest in literature as well as serving as Faulkner’s attorney in later years.

Papers, photographs, and scrapbooks of Sam Lumpkin of Tupelo, Mississippi.  He served as a Democrat in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 1932 to 1942 and as Speaker of the House from 1940-1942.  Lumpkin was Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi from 1948 to 1952.  During the 1952 presidential election, he led the faction of Democrats who supported Republican presidential nominee Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The Deavours Family Collection contains genealogical information about the Deavours and related families.  It also holds material related to Stone Deavours, a lawyer, who served as University of Mississippi Law School Dean from 1930 to 1932.  The collection also includes two nineteenth-century ledgers regarding Garlandsville, Mississippi and the journal of an unidentified Alabama dating from 1860 to 1874.

In predictive legal writing, credibility is not inferred from conclusions alone. It is constructed sentence by sentence. Analytic correctness is necessary, but it is not sufficient. Supervising attorneys read prose as evidence of intellectual control, treating disciplined style as proof of substantive mastery. Yet legal writing scholarship has largely framed clarity as a matter of pedagogy or professionalism rather than as a structural theory of ethos.

This article reframes predictive writing as institutional rhetoric. Within the hierarchical environment of law practice, cognitive fluency governs professional trust: writing that is easy to process yet disciplined in reasoning reads as competence. Drawing …

This phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of Chinese immigrants and temporary residents struggling with depressive symptoms and their process of seeking and accepting psychotherapy support. The study aimed to describe the factors that motivated participants to enter therapy for depression while also addressing their internal concerns about treatment. Nine female-identified Chinese immigrant adults with such experiences were recruited. Participants’ perceptions of their depressive symptoms and the factors contributing to their decision to seek professional therapy were explored through in-depth, semi-structured qualitative interviews conducted in Mandarin. The fields of conservation and environmentalism prioritize ecosystem health, yet both emerged from western frameworks that displaced and criminalized Indigenous land stewardship. The idealization of “pristine wilderness” narratives served to justify the removal of Indigenous peoples from their homelands and erased millennia of sustainable land stewardship that had maintained ecological balance long before western conservation existed. These narratives not only misrepresented Indigenous relationship with land but also constructed a false dichotomy between humans and nature that positioned Indigenous presence as a threat rather than a source of ecological knowledge. The first section of this book includes what students learned from their pre-departure interviews.

Pheochromocytoma are rare neuroendocrine tumor of chromaffin cells found in the adrenal medulla; tumors are highly heterogeneous, varying in anatomic location, genetic context, symptomatology, biochemical profile, and metastatic potential. Approximately 30% of pheochromocytoma have a hereditary genetic basis; analysis and classification of pathogenic variants is essential for understanding phenotypic presentation for familial risk assessment and appropriate clinical intervention. Curative treatment for malignant pheochromocytoma does not yet exist; pharmacological intervention is beneficial for symptom management. At the same time, exposure to violence among young people is increasing. Limited research has examined the relationship between witnessing gun violence and problem gambling, particularly among young adults. This study examines this association among young adults in Rhode Island. Methods: Data came from the 2024 Rhode Island Young Adult Survey (N=1,008) of individuals aged 18‚Äì25 years. INTRO:‚ Restrictive masculinity norms, characterized by emotional suppression, dominance, and risk-taking, have been linked to adverse health among cisgender heterosexual men. Little is known about how RMNs operate among sexual and gender minority populations, particularly transgender young adults. METHODS: Data were from the 2024 Rhode Island Young Adult Survey, a cross-sectional, web-based survey of adults aged 18-25 years. Analyses were restricted to SGM participants, with sub-analyses among transgender young adults. RMNs were measured using a 12-item questionnaire. This project examined gastrointestinal parasite control in both sheep and goats, focusing on the prevalence and management of barber pole worms. Goats and sheep carry varied parasite loads, with goats being more susceptible due to their grazing habits and lower tolerance. High parasite loads can lead to anemia, reduced growth, lethargy, coma, and sudden death within the herd. These risks highlight the importance of proper deworming methods for both sheep and goats. Strategies researched included pasture management, salvage deworming using the FAMACHA scoring, tactical deworming based off fecal egg counts, and strategic seasonal treatments. This project examined the social and emotional experiences of Black students at predominantly White institutions (PWIs). Using a qualitative interview approach, the researcher conducted in-depth, open-ended interviews with Black undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni to explore perceptions of campus culture, belonging, representation, and identity. The study highlighted recurring themes related to cultural navigation, emotional well-being, and adaptive strategies across different stages of higher education. Findings emphasized the importance of centering Black student voices to better understand institutional impact and to inform future research and equity-focused practices in higher education.

As students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are increasingly represented in higher education, these students need to have their needs met, and many institutions lack the resources to do so. This systematic review synthesizes research on the experiences of students with autism in college, focusing on barriers, support services, and institutional interventions. A comprehensive search of peer-reviewed studies published between 2012 and 2025 identified 17 relevant articles. Findings reveal that students often experience difficulties with social integration, executive functioning, sensory sensitivities, and mental health, all of which can affect academic performance and retention. This study investigates viral diversity, distribution, and functional potential at hydrothermal vent ecosystems along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
