The 1861 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place in town of Lincolnton in neighboring Lincoln County and was held at local Presbyterian and Methodist churches. The introductory sermon was delivered by Elder R. P. Logan. The Circular Letter of this meeting was authored by Elder George W. Rollins. On the second day of meeting, the association devoted 30 minutes of prayer in behalf of the soldiers of the Confederate Army.
