The purpose of this paper is to determine whether psychological information is relevant to solving aesthetic problems. Along the way I will point out that there are disparate senses of the word "psychology" and I will show how John Dewey can be perceived historically as an early contributor to what we now call "cultural psychology", which I believe is a viable alternative to experimental aesthetics.

In this paper, I have endeavored to illustrate many of the forms of crime committed during the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. I have also attempted to show the role of local people in the law. The workings of the common law of England have been simplified to outline the investigations, the trials, and the punishments received by felons and trespassers. Much of my research came from original manuscripts. Therefore, I have retained the original spellings, word order, and phrases, neither correcting nor modernizing the words, word order, or phrases, of the quotations and excerpts from those original manuscripts.

For a number of years, differences have existed in the training of music therapists. In some countries, music therapists are trained first and foremost as musicians, and secondly as therapists. Other countries allow music therapy to be practiced by music psychologists, physicians, or educators. Both sides employ varying arguments. Bunt (1988) feels that therapists are either experienced musicians with minimal training in developmental, therapeutic skills, or experienced clinicians lacking in many areas of musical expertise. Local industrial textile workers began to react during World War I to the injustices that had been growing in the local textile industry since the 1890's when the factory system started to dominate Chattanooga's textile production. By May, 1917, the city's textile workers became aware of the social gap that had been evolving under the new manufacturing system and determined to lessen it by unionizing under the leadership of the United Textile Workers of America, an affiliate of the American Federation of Labor.

The fiction of Sarah Orne Jewett is not traditionally classified with the 'greats' of canonical literature. Many feminist scholars and critics argue that Jewett's excommunication may be in part because her writing doesn't fit the pattern of most American classics, those novels that Nina Baym labeled, "Melodramas of Beset Manhood."l There is no search for the father, no hunt to kill, and no discernable plot. For twenty five years, analyses of the link between Sylvia Plath's life and writings have too often focused on selected rebellious incidents and a handful of poems written in the last six months of her llfe.
