In this report, State Archeologist E. Blackman wrote to the Nebraska State Historical Society about recently completed archeology fieldwork during 1901. Blackman first reports on recent additions to the Museum and details some of his explorations of 18 Indian village sites. Fieldwork emphasized an investigation of Pawnee sites, including the Wright Site and Burkett Site, both near Genoa. Blackman provides a month-by-month summary of his work, reporting on numerous topics including his travels, publications, and expenses. It is a short (24-page) pamphlet addressed to young women and men about to embark on a sexual relationship and an honest and frank effort to alleviate the ignorance which both sexes often brought to the marriage union. Craddock's discussion of the "sexual act" stressed that empathy and consideration for one's partner were the vital elements for an enduring marriage. THE following version of the familiar ballad known variously as "Lord Randal," "Lord Ronald," and so on, was discovered by Mr. H. C. House, of Kingfisher College, Oklahoma, sung in a railroad camp at Geary, Colorado. It should be added to the fifteen or so versions, some of them American, of which Prof. Child makes an exhaustive study, English and Scottish Popular Ballads, I, 151 ff. The identity of the ballad is unmistakable. All the conventional features, the poison, the legacy, the iteration, and the dialogue are present. modified to suit altered local conditions.

October 28,1856, I arrived in Fremont. Sabbath, November 2, I preached the first sermon in this vicinity. This was at the house of Seth Marvin, a mile and a half west of Fremont. No house in Fremont was sufficiently finished to contain an assembly of twenty-five. The next Sabbath we commenced a service in Fremont in the house of Robert Kittle (in a little shanty just south of the knoll on Military Avenue on which E. Abbott's house now stands). From that time Sabbath services were continued with special exceptions.
